@miigwanyorku There are so many instances in which racism and ethnic identity have impacted one’s aspirations. We see it in careers, and research as well. Majority of participants in studies are WEIRD, so studies lack in representation, and so many minorities are missing out on opportunities
@wyn_archives @julie_conder @chantelle0090 It’s interesting how easily we partake in confirmation bias in our everyday lives. It’s important that as critical thinkers, to avoid falling victim to confirmation bias, we open ourselves up to new and different perspectives and avoid jumping to conclusions.
@jesuisef Registered Reports literally eliminate p-hacking and HARKing! It ensures that papers will be published no matter the results, making them immune to publication bias. More journals need to adopt this format because it values the methods and research, not just results #PSYC4180
@AlexiaMelo01 Yes! Imposter syndrome is something that people should be aware of because it can affect anyone anywhere. Feeling like a fraud hinders success and no one should feel like their accomplishments are not enough or have this constant fear of failure. #PSYC4180
@Isabellaxpavan Right?! Not to mention that since journals only want to publish ground-breaking findings, researchers are more prone to p-hacking. Researchers will literally do anything for good rep, like only wanting to publish in high-impact journals.. which is another problem #PSYC4180E
