@JenLRossman It does make you wonder, if Dee or Gaeta had survived until the end of—both of whom would have presumably been made Admiral over Hoshi—what they’d have done in this scene.

Gaeta fits. I’m not sure if I can imagine Dee lying in the grass with them all though.

@JenLRossman I do like his little speech where he hands back the admiral pins and is like “I did not want that job thank gods you came back” and I’d miss that and of course I love every second of screen time he does have but … yeah. It’s a choice.

@JenLRossman the tragedy is that I think they get stuck here - any potential they had for it to work gets ruined in the fact that they did this, but simultaneously they can never move past it and get off the table.

@JenLRossman in fairness, of the five people who wear the Admiral pins (Cain, Adama, Tigh, Gaeta and Hoshi) over the course of the series … 60% of them are canonically queer. Which considering the lack of canonically queer characters is sort of impressive.

@JenLRossman I love this shot but it’s also a reminder of how many people we’ve lost along the way; we’ve gone from military crowds where there were 20, 30 people you could name to a front row of maybe a dozen at most (and a fair few of them pretty minor characters!!!)

@Eddie_NYC @JenLRossman it does sort of feel like it would have been an appropriate thing to do post new caprica, it happens so very late, but I’m glad they did do it and recognise a new system was needed.

@JenLRossman I think the Gaeta story tracks as a through line, but yeah, what he could have been if things went a different way haunts me. I think it’s set once he loses the leg though - both in Gaeta never recovering and AJ jokes that he was getting very expensive because of the VFX
