The U.S. is designating Burma's State Administrative Council and 16 individuals connected to the military regime. We take this action alongside the UK and Canada, who are also imposing costs on the regime. Thank you to my counterparts, @DominicRaab@MarcGarneau, for your efforts.
We are still brave despite junta’s brutal oppressions. Mandalay’s night strike against military dictatorship was seen in ChanMyaTharSi Tsp. We aren’t short-lived enthusiasm. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar#May14Coup#WeSupportNUG
Proud to join with @SecDebHaaland in leading a historic U.S. delegation to the upcoming @UN4Indigenous Forum. I look forward to watching her make history yet again as the highest-ranking Native American U.S. government official ever to address the United Nations at #UNPFII.

🔵BREAKING!
The global community must do more to stop the intensifying and systematic slaughter of civilians in #Myanmar, says UN Human Rights chief @mbachelet

Diversity makes us stronger, smarter, & more creative. That's why we've named Amb. Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. She has an impressive career in diplomacy and has brought empirical rigor & urgency to the fight for diversity and inclusion.
At least 702 people, mostly young teens, have been murdered by the junta since Feb 1.
Protestors continue to gather & demand R2P, No-fly-zone, military intervention, and restoration of democracy. #MilkTeaAlliance#WhatsHappeninglnMyanmar#Apr11Coup

I saw this image earlier today and can't stop thinking about it. So many young lives have been lost in Myanmar. Many of the 702 victims are young teenagers. But they're still on the streets and on social media protesting the military and begging for stronger international action.
The international community let Min Aung Hlaing get away with genocide of the Rohingya. Of course he thought they'd also let him get away with the coup.
Tell @DominicRaab to join the genocide case at the ICJ

“Without international community’s strong action more massacres are coming...” Myanmar UN special envoy @DrSasa22222 has issued a warning after an estimated 82 people were killed on Friday in Bago. There have now been 701 recorded deaths according to @aapp_burma since the coup.
"The Myanmar military has launched deadly attacks on civilians in ethnic states in a flagrant attempt to deter ethnic organizations from supporting for the anti-coup resistance, says the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar," including by bombing villages. https://t.co/Gv56Hgepfq
The death toll on Friday in the town of Bago at the hands of Myanmar security forces has now mounted to 82, according to AAPP. Security forces reportedly "fired rifle grenades at protesters." https://t.co/g3ZGfgbYlL
As protests continue across Myanmar most of the country is currently in the dark due to the junta's #InternetShutdown.
Overnight multiple fires were started by the junta & an unknown number of people were abducted. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar#Apr11Coup

US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield has delivered a powerful message to the people of Myanmar & the world with a call to action:"The US stands with you...We cannot allow them (the junta) to succeed...only concrete action will change the military's calculus." Exactly.
The Myanmar junta doesn't even dare to expose its prosecution of protesters to public scrutiny: it is trying them in prison courts where "only the judge, the law officer, and the defense lawyer are allowed to attend." Even family members are barred. https://t.co/Lvltvh5H67
Bago locals reported that military terrorists have been using heavy weapons such as RPG and bombs even into houses since yesterday. Not enough space in morgue for dead bodies with over hundreds of unconfirmed deaths.

The UN in Myanmar is following events in Bago with reports of heavy artillery being used against civilians and medical treatment being denied to those injured.
The violence must cease immediately.
We call on the security forces to allow medical teams to treat the wounded.
