Conclusion:
A brief, 1-min topical activation of TRPV3 channels with 10% carvacrol induced a moderate and prolonged cutaneous vasodilation, mediated through NOS-, COX-, and K⁺-channel dependent pathways
Based on our results, a carvacrol solution might be used to temporarily increase skin blood flow, thereby promoting heat loss (acute heat alleviation strategy?)
Repeated use of a carvacrol solution might improve skin vascular function, thereby enhancing heat loss and potentially reducing heat-related injuries.
Additionally, improved skin vascular function through repeated use of carvacrol might help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, as microvascular dysfunction may precede the development of macrovascular disease.
These possibilities need to be tested in future, but I think topical application of carvacrol has several potential clinical implications☺
