We are deeply concerned about the situation in Gaza. We have lost contact with some of our Palestinian colleagues on the ground. We are particularly worried for the patients, medical staff and thousands of families taking shelter at Al Shifa hospital and other health facilities.
We stand ready to provide further support to medical facilities in Gaza as soon as a window will be opened for the delivery of desperately needed aid. 4/4
“There were huge numbers of people inside the hospital; they think the hospital is a safe place, but there is no safe place. There is not enough space. There are patients who need surgery and they are laying on the ground,” he says. 3/4
“We delivered everything we had left, all our medical supplies, to Al Shifa hospital in Gaza City, two days ago. We saw hundreds of people taking shelter and it was difficult to walk inside,” says Loay Harb, MSF nurse in Gaza. 2/4
⚠️The healthcare system in #Gaza is facing collapse. Hospitals are overwhelmed and lacking resources.
We recently made a large donation of medical stock, including medicines and medical equipment to Al Shifa hospital, the main surgical facility in the Strip. 1/4

I cannot stomach the images coming out of that Gaza hospital—the burned bodies, the scattered limbs—they are the worst I’ve ever seen. Surviving a genocide doesn’t give you the right to enact another. Zionism is death.
On 17th October, the 11th day of Israel’s bombardments on the besieged Gaza Strip, Israel bombed the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza, killing more than 500 people including patients, doctors & those seeking refuge.
Gaza is home to 2.3 million Palestinians (1.1 million children) and is one of the world’s most densely populated places. Israel has held it under siege for 17 years. In the last 11 days Israel has dropped thousands of bombs on the imprisoned population, estimated to be the equivalent force of a quarter of a nuclear bomb. Human rights experts have also confirmed the use of the internationally-banned weapon, white phosphorus.
On 15 October 2023, over 800 scholars and practitioners of international law, conflict studies and genocide studies signed a public statement warning of the possibility of genocide being perpetrated by Israeli forces against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Signatories include prominent Holocaust and genocide studies scholars.
“As scholars and practitioners of international law, conflict studies and genocide studies, we are compelled to sound the alarm about the possibility of the crime of genocide being perpetrated by Israeli forces against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. We do not do so lightly, recognising the weight of this crime, but the gravity of the current situation demands it.”

🇮🇱🇵🇸 Israel bombed the HQ of Gaza’s civil defense, preventing them from digging out survivors and dead bodies from under the rubble.
It is estimate that there are 1,000+ bodies are under the rubble of destroyed homes in Gaza.
Horrific war crimes.
