EVERY state except:
California
Texas
New York
Illinois
Ohio
Pennsylvania
& Florida
Have smaller populations than the city of Los Angeles
43/50 states.
Abolishing the Electoral College like @SenWarren advocates for would mean LA would have more power than 43 states
RT!
@SMALLdSMALLr @SenJeffMerkley@benshapiro all I’m trying to get at is the problems someone in California or NY are seeing are not the same issues rural populations are seeing. Obviously someone from a massive city state will have different wants and needs from a presidential candidate than a farmer from Indiana or Utah.
@SMALLdSMALLr @SenJeffMerkley@benshapiro Well if you look at the populations by state most states have around 5m total. If we use the logic that only half of states populations vote it’s even less. Do you not agree by population Cal/Ny/Fl/Tex would be the decision makers?
@HattyMch@SenJeffMerkley@benshapiro Actually I would say it’s a democratic republic, you do have elected officials representing you in power who vote on laws/policies correct?
