this song has been my healing… thank you for listening + journeying with me to Iceland to root this song in the earth and tell her story too.
@erindale_xyz@erindale_xyz I’m using Resolve for a big project and it’s flawless so far.
What’s your PC specs ?
Even on my 9900k + 1080ti is just works really well. Much quicker than Premiere for example.
@erindale_xyz So that's my configuration, on a i9 9900k, with my 1080ti only, it just runs super smoothly for both raw 4k (BMPCC4k) + 4k H265.
Did you do any sort of treatment on the images ? Also I've read that you had 60fps footage ? Is that what you are working with ?
@erindale_xyz I don’t think I did, it worked straight out of the box. Make sure you run Cuda rather than OpenGL, but that should be automatic.
It can sometimes get slow when adding a lot of colour nodes but usually should play real time if you have any resource intensive effects.
@erindale_xyz The Edit / Color / Fusion page system is great. I’m on a project ATM where I edit natively and grade 4K RAW & 4K h265 smoothly on both my beefy PC and 16’ MacBook Pro.
There are also a lot of GPU accelerated effects like stabilisation that is about 10x faster than Premiere’s
@erindale_xyz I felt the same at first, you feel quite trapped into their horrible database system, the almost not flexible UI, and timeline resolution for the whole project. I still prefer Premiere for a lot of things, but there is a certain flexibility in having everything at the same spot.
@cgpov Tried it and it was fast, but I remember I had issues with shortcuts (and I use them a lot in C4D), especially the CMD and Windows key were switched. It felt Google Chrome Desktopp was way more flexible with this.
