@ALDIAustralia The account password is required to make mobile plan purchases on your ALDIMobile app, but it's not needed to DISABLE the password requirement in the settings.
That makes this security feature completely redundant. Please look into it!

There really needs to be more focus on the security concerns surrounding governmental election votes during these times when digital alternatives are being sought out - not just in the US, but worldwide!

@12ghast Perfect example of type I and type II errors.
I personally think this is a good change temporarily, given the amount of baseless panic and fake news being spread out there.
Thoughts?
@Michael_Gribben I believe Zoom's security isn't particularly weak compared to other web apps (both large and small) - it's just in the spotlight at the moment due to its sudden increase in user base.
Great to see you putting the focus on security as a whole outside of Zoom!
@berniecroll As someone who uses Zoom on a regular basis, I very much agree with this.
Zoom is a great tool for community organisations and such, but certainly unsuitable as a secure communication tool for highly secure corporate meetings.
Something I've always wondered is - how are hand-written signatures considered a form of secure identity verification at ALL? "They" say that forgeries can be noticed by professionals - like, what?
We don't live in the 20th Century any more, people!

situation could result in government bodies invading personal and corporate privacy on a new level to ensure that an outbreak like this doesn't reoccur.
Will the public be supportive of this action or be against it? This may be another pivot point for the world. (2/2)
We talk a lot about the current impacts on security due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but not enough about the LASTING ramifications of this disaster.
Just as 9/11 significantly improved the world travel security and anti-terror protocols, this (1/2)

@12ghast Oh WOW this is actually a really well thought out and disguised scam - almost had me fooled and left wondering why Musk would do something like this.
Many of the side links take you to exactly where you expect them to, and using Medium to fake a website is simply ingenious.
Zoom is a rapidly rising video conferencing software during this COVID-19 lockdown period.
Fantastic app, but rapidly increasing traffic, however, is a black hat hacker magnet. Stay safe and pay attention to any privacy & data breach zero-days!

Zoom, the videoconferencing app whose traffic has surged during the coronavirus pandemic, is under scrutiny by the New York attorney generalโs office for its data privacy and security practices https://t.co/qTdGTLsJ2D
Flyscreens can NOT substitute a lock on your window!
Walk around your house and count how many windows you have a robber could just cut their way into! People need to pay more attention to their windows rather than their front door security.

@just_in_awe@a_m_security This is an actual feature available on Google Maps.
Would have been very useful during investigations near the start of this outbreak - not so sure how useful it would be now, though.
@a_m_security Google Fit and Google Maps does this sneakily - keeping track of your location at every second of the day "by default". Incredibly creepy and does more harm than good, in my opinion.
COVID-19 has spread to a point where EVERYONE should quarantine themselves anyways.
ยฃ800,000 lost in the UK alone in February due to scams surrounding COVID-19.
Keep yourself secure during these tough times, everyone: https://t.co/Xc5Qfuo0Tl
