I'm always in Cannock.
I know my town better than anyone. Anyone. From local government to national representation.
You know when Cannock people should have started paying attention? Not when people fleeing war stay in 2 hotels. We should have started paying attention when the sons and daughters of generations of Coal Miners (who in some of my mates cases were literally starving during the miners strike) continually voted for a party that has left our town in tatters.
The town centre is dead, go up to Park Road and see the line of people waiting for methadone as the town battles a major heroin problem, then look at the "shops" which now is vape /barber/poundshop on a loop, and then tell me with a straight face that Cannock voters aren't responsible for the state of the town but 200 brown people in 2 hotels are.
People walking around town in fucking dressing gowns and slippers, local standards disappearing due to the chronic lack of investment in infrastructure and people in our town based on voting for parties contrary to our town's interests has turned chunks of it feral.
And we can't blame "them" because 97.4% of Cannock people are white. But hey, it's the 200 people in hotels fault.
Only a bigot could blame people seeking asylum for the woes of a town which decided that decades of Tory government would make their town healthy, happy and productive but instead has left it a shell of the vibrant town it was many years ago.
Blame yourself for once. Blame your vote. Blame yourself for giving liars, cheats, corrupt officials your thumbs up nationally.
Blame you.
Screenshots below. No asylum seekers were involved in any of it.
Prepare to have the biggest smile ever...
🥳 Derek arrived 1 year ago today. We gave him his first ever birthday party
🎟️ We have him his official printed golden ticket. His lifetime pass
🎂 He got cake and all his human and dog friends came over
There’s a scene in the movie “A Star is Born” with Bradley Cooper and the dog outside the garage. I watched that movie in the end of my drinking days and the scene tortured me so much thinking about it. Of course it was only a movie but I then proceeded to pretty much try drink myself to death. I used to listen to this song hammered drunk alone and crying for hours. The thought of Snoop being home waiting for me is what got me through that ICU visit and made me want to change my life.
There’s a lot of emotions in my head about Tina. They are however surprisingly positive. Yes her stay was very short and we’d all have loved to have her for years to make us smile. However for me personally I’m proud of myself because I did all the hard things for her and she had everything perfect until the very last moment. I’d never have done 1% of that when being addicted. I’d have let her down and been selfish and gone off drinking.
I’m so happy I got to meet her because she taught me a type of love that I never thought even existed. She was selfless and completely pure in a way I never saw in any creature on this planet.
The song and looking at Tina videos just got me thinking that it doesn’t have to end badly. Things can turn around. You can be running around the jungle with a dog absolutely full of life with a huge smile on your face and everything to live for.
Thank you Tina. The work for you has only just started and I’ll see you again one day 🥰🥰
Her new mum will fly her to Essex. She even got her name tattooed on herself in Thai and English.
People always think I’ll be sad to see dogs go. I’m the opposite… absolutely over the moon. A perfect ending for Hope. The best girl there ever was 🥰🥰
The unwritten but unbreakable deal between dog and owner. That’s all they want.
Snoop is sitting beside me on the sofa as I made this little video. Old, sore but happy 🥰🥰🥰
🧑💻To lead by example. The mission resonates with lots of people around the world. I feel like I am blessed and entrusted by so many people to solve street dog suffering. Dedicating my life to it and getting rid of all distractions is the very least I can do to repay that support.
🐶I love dogs. Pretty obvious one but I love being in their company and helping them because they help me and my mental health too. Imagine getting to wake up in the middle of the jungle and immediately start helping dogs. I know many people would give anything to be in that position so I’m going to embrace it fully.
The drawing below someone sent me featuring the dogs this week confirmed I’d made the right decision.
From my little containers in the jungle I can dream up and do anything. Save more dogs, plan the opening of a clinic, write a book, branch into other countries, do interviews, research ways to grow faster, find talented people around the world to help, create structures and generally raise awareness. Every tool I need will be there in that container. A glance out the window to see a dog like Derek will remind me why I’m trying so hard.
It is radical and a big step but ultimately its just a way to save more street dogs and to save them faster than I currently am.
Big Love
Niall

For me it’s a happy story because Giuseppe could have died on his own in the rain months ago in agony. He lived a full life and went out in style only knowing love. He had what so many street dogs don’t ever experience and that is dignity.
A pleasure to know you old boy ❤️
