The qr NPM package is now faster than zxing-wasm for reading. For encoding, it’s 4x-65x faster than other JS libs.
There are also two new demos below. First creates cool qr codes in different styles. Second one visualizes decoding in real time.

@C2IRIS A few years ago we were tagging your sentiment with #nocrypto, the point being that systems aren't secure if the cryptography isn't actually secure. You're better off not using cryptography then using it and falsely thinking your secure.
@C2IRIS I see in other tweets concern with quantum. Quantum doesn't attack the encryption itself. The concern is with key agreement/exchange.
The actual encryption (symmetric cipher) is not expected to be affected.
@C2IRIS The one-time pad birthed information theory itself. So no, encryption isn't illusion, it's one of the most fundamental truths humanity has discovered.
And that by "accident" by someone working for the phone company working on a seemingly independent problem.

Just because something is an RFC doesn't mean it's good.
There are plenty of terrible ideas that have been implemented as RFCs. (UTF-16 being used for canonicalization is a really good example.)
