@AfterSoundMusic@WonderbreadMMA IMO he rose up quickly but when he turns his head and sees it clearly being waived off the just said f it and laid back down. I do believe he was hurt, but I also believe he was fully conscious still.
On August 1, 2004, Daigo Umehara had one pixel of health left against Justin Wong in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
He parried all 15 hits of Chun-Li’s super and won the round.
The crowd reaction became one of esports’ most replayed clips.
@VampiricLegz@ElPoliteMexa You can hear it and see it. Clear big damage. Ilia almost stole the round with the intense pressure at the end but I think Justin out struck and cause more altering damage.
@AfterSoundMusic@WonderbreadMMA He got zero chance to stand. Was stopped immediately w/ Sean already saluting. It was 99% that Sean would just make him stand back up and not follow him down and almost certainly drop him that same round. But in that situation and implications let him go out on the shield.
@imeretin_ilson It's not just physical. Sometimes fighters change when they realize they can lose. Only time will tell with ilia. It seems when Usman lost his belt he was hesitant in the rematch. We will all find out together so no one is right or wrong yet on how this will alter his career.
Justin Gaethje lost his first two UFC title fights. He lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov, lost to a prime Charles Oliveira, and suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Max Holloway. Yet he never stopped believing.
Since 2017, Gaethje has fought nothing but legends. For nearly a decade, he has remained in the Top 5 of the UFC lightweight division, facing the toughest competition in the sport and never backing down from a challenge.
Against one of the best young fighters of this era, and against all odds, Justin Ray Gaethje finally became the undisputed UFC Lightweight Champion. 🏆
Still get chills no matter how many times I watch
