It always should have been 6 power conferences of 10 teams, 6 lower conferences containing the rest, plus the Independents. 6 power conference champions, 1 (or 2) lower conference champions or top 1 (or 2) Independent teams for an 8 team playoff.

The first round playoff games would be your top traditional bowl games (Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl), with the semifinals and National Championship as separate, independent games not tied to a bowl game. Bowl games have as traditional conference tie ins as they can have.

A Wild West NIL situation with increased influence of private equity plus destruction of tradition by ruining conferences and old rivalries has made college football bad for everyone but Notre Dame, who continues to uphold tradition and therefore can feel good about their success.

It’s almost like my life gets too comfortable or routine so I do things to chase chaos. Then I wish for a simpler, more routine life. Then I get that. Then I crave the chaos again. And the cycle repeats.

@SullenSerf Getting loud and excited here and there during big games (playoffs/championships) is one thing, this performative fandom stuff for game one (and doing it the whole game) is about as cringe and annoying as it gets.

Pilot Script for “The Magicians of Ysavar” has been submitted 🤞🏻

5 years ago, I wrote this as the opening novella in a planned series of 4. Now I’m writing it as an idea for an animated TV series.

Does this make sense: I want my He-Man: Revival project to largely maintain the surface level lore of the 1983 Filmation series, with little added tidbits here and there, but I want it to have the emotional depth and power of Lord of the Rings (or as close as one can get to that).

I want people to feel the nostalgia, but I want them to care about the characters more deeply. More than just fanservice. I want people to see the spectrum of the human psyche.

Teaching was one of the easiest jobs I ever had. Classroom prep is fake. I had my entire semester planned out in 2 hours on the first “teacher work day.” I worked contract hours, nothing more nothing less. Never had any bad reviews from peers or administrators. Was often complimented on how I successfully prepared most students for the next grade’s work.

He-Man is also a typological Christ figure. A hero who in some form appears normal or average, but in reality possesses a great power. But again, he puts himself at risk to save the Kingdom. He uses power for ultimate good.

The reaction to the Golden Axe series trailer shows me that we are ready for a return to sincerity in media. But I want to know how we got here.... Cause a decade ago, you would be crucified for NOT being meta and cynical. I wanted sincerity back then but it was frowned upon.
