Spent about 2 months building an FPGA inference PoC. Quite stable — even on a low-power KR260, it’s getting ~11.6 img/s on MNIST and around 30 tok/s on GPT-2 tiny.
Got a second-hand Xilinx U50 arriving in a few days — will test how far it can push real models.

Suggestion for ChatGPT API: have it summarise convos when token usage exceeds 2k. This could reduce next token usage. Summary could include previous dialogue and serve as "recap" for next convo. Downside: requires extra API request.

Spent the arvo on the ChatGPT API & picked up some: 1) Token calc charges for both sent & received messages. 2) API doesn't keep convo context, so gotta send all old & new content each time. Can rack up expenses quickly with frequent back&forth. #ChatGPT #API #expenses
