I keep upgrading my portfolio site to see how good these models are getting. Very unsophisticated eval, but super fun.
Astra definitely feels different. I’m excited to see what more creative people do with it.

Just wrapped another pass on my personal portfolio site with Sol. I've always wanted to create an interactive experience that tells the story of my career and side projects instead of another static portfolio. Sol handled everything from sourcing open-source assets to using @felix_trz's Aperture engine and creating custom assets in Blender. Still a few things to polish, but I'd love to hear what you think:

Built my old site with Sonnet 4 back in the day. Just took another pass with Codex 5.4 + $frontend skill and the glow-up is real. Starting to think the only bottleneck now is my creativity 🥲
The question isn’t whether 3D engines have feedback loops. They do.
The question is how much machinery sits inside the loop an agent has to repeat.
In many web 3D stacks, validation pulls in browser startup, GPU config, Playwright input, real-time stepping, custom harness code, and screenshots.
Aperture is testing a smaller loop.
A few people asked if Aperture is built on Three.js.
It isn’t.
Three.js is foundational to web 3D, and agents are good at it partly because it’s everywhere in training data.
Aperture is testing a different bet: ECS-native state as the interface for agents.

I built a 3D engine in about a month.
That wasn’t the original plan.
Aperture began as research to test assumptions about WebGPU, ECS, 3D engines, and coding agents.
It went further than expected: rendering, physics, examples, CLI, docs, showcase games.

Whenever I don’t use codex for a task, I ask myself why and usually realize that there’s some missing context, I needed to write a skill, or I just didn’t think to use it.
Rarely is it because the task is outside of the capabilities of the model. Overhang right now feels large.
