@tsearad@gwarrior201@87shenanigans So you plan on giving your son a house when he’s in his late 40’s/mid 50’s?
Honestly curious because I’m 33 and I’ve thought of what I will inherit down the road.
Statistically, if your society isn't starting families at 25 then there's no way to be above replacement. Which means family homes must be affordable at 22, fresh out of university. It seems unimaginable!
Podcasting is dominated by men. Maria Sharapova wants to offer some counterprogramming.
The tennis star’s new podcast, “Pretty Tough,” debuts on April 22 as an alternative to what has become known as the manosphere. It aims to highlight ambitious women. https://t.co/Cpqan4KbQU
Who the fuck do right wing One Piece fans even root for? The marines? Celestial dragons???
Cuz there is no way their dumb asses are rooting for the Straw Hats.
For the second straight year, there are no Black golfers in the Players Championship.
That raises the question of how much the game affords opportunity to players of color who want to reach the highest level.

@ATabarrok This is simply false, and insane that an Econ professor would post. 45k salary would probably lose 15-20% if you actually include all the taxes (sales/fed/state/city/social security/medicare)
Well she probably didn’t say “the” war because we’re involved in so many goddamn conflicts worldwide.
She’s probably against ALL war. But yeah. Totally abstract.
driving through a small town, there’s an old woman standing in the light rain holding a sign: “feed people, not war”. just her. not “the war” - just “war”, as a concept. this is abstract protesting: an artistic performance, dissenting against nothing and everything.
“No one has a good answer”
No we do. You just don’t like it. Just like I don’t like paying for their income/healthcare via social security and Medicare. Yet here we are.
You’re looking for a “good answer”, which is just trying to absolve the people who profited off of debasing the dollar and leaving me an unfixable debt crisis.
Reap what you sow. I will not feel bad for the old person selling a 1.6 million dollar house
No one has a good answer for what to do when someone's home for 33 years is suddenly assessed at a $1.6 million valuation, causing a painfully high $8,000 annual property tax in even the lowest property-tax-rate state. The suggestion is that they should all sell their homes, flooding the market with supply so that the homes actually end up selling for much less. But then it should never be assessed at $1.6 million, right? And we should reject the idea that a first-world nation should have any seniors forced to sell because of property taxes, let alone lean on them 100% to pay for government services.
Joe Flacco went on a rant with @bykevinclark about how football 15 years ago was tougher.
“I don’t think it should be roughing when they land on us. Or being slapped on the head is roughing. It affects games in a negative way.”
Full clip is must-watch.
The correct minimum wage is zero.
That does not mean I want people broke, it means I want everyone to be able to start at square one and go from there.
