Denis Villeneuve says 'Dune: Messiah' is his favorite book in the sci-fi series
“It’s a very dark, beautiful book. It’s a story about Paul and Chani and them struggling with their relationship, having the burden and incredible pressure from the world around them, and Paul is trying to find a way out of this cycle of violence. There’s something about their love, through time and the way they are, their relationship evolves"
@SamAdlerBell idk. I think protesting the ex-vice-president during an authoritarian takeover by the person she tried to get out of office is a pretty asinine thing to do that is worthy of being cussed out for.
Pope Leo quotes Hannah Arendt:
“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist."

Catholic church in Maywood IL walked out this morning after mass and marched to the detention center where the priest demanded to go inside and bless the people being held by ice. He was denied entry
@nosimus1@GarrettPetersen@captgouda24 This is correct I saw the second comment after, which I appreciate. But I still think on principle the only things that should be illegal are acts that harm (or rely on harm). Opening the door to "this encourages people to do harm in the future" seems like a big slippery slope.
@annbauerwriter@CharlesFLehman I agree with this, but I think the list of things that are "immoral to their root" is limited to acts that harm other people.
