What is the truth behind the Uttam Nagar violence?

So far, most accounts circulating publicly have come from only one side. I spoke to Shaheen from the Muslim family involved, who alleged that the dispute began after her aunt was harassed on the day of Holi, following which tensions escalated in the neighbourhood.

According to her, Tarun later arrived with around 20–25 individuals carrying iron rods and sticks and allegedly assaulted several members of her family, leaving many seriously injured. She also claimed that a 14-year-old boy, Rizwan, was beaten, suffered seizures, and was later taken away from the hospital, after which the family has had no information about his whereabouts.

Shaheen further alleged that despite multiple injuries in the family, several of their male relatives, including a minor, were arrested and sent to jail, while their homes and vehicles were looted and demolished, and women from the family were also taken into custody.

These are serious allegations from the Muslim side that had not been heard publicly until now. The truth should emerge through a fair and impartial investigation.

Bihar: In Jhagarua village of Jamalpur police station area in Darbhanga district, 65-year-old Abdul Salam was beaten to death with an iron rod.

A dispute arose in the village over the alleged theft of bricks belonging to Manish Kumar Ram. During this, Manish Kumar Ram’s mother, Vimla Devi, was using abusive language and making communal remarks. At the same time, Abdul Salam was passing by. Abdul Salam objected to the abusive language and communal remarks. After this, Manish Kumar Ram, his brother Roshan Kumar Ram, their mother Vimla Devi, and others attacked him with an iron rod. He suffered serious injuries to his head and fell to the ground on the spot. Local people took him in an injured condition to the Kiratpur Community Health Center, where doctors declared him dead.

Gang Rape on Holi in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon

Five men, including 03 minors, gang-raped a 19 y/o woman in Kondagaon on Holi, after entering her home under the pretext of applying colours and sending her mother away to buy a liquor bottle. All five accused have been arrested.

A 28-year-old Muslim truck driver, Aamir, was killed in Rajasthan's Bhiwadi, with his family alleging that Bajrang Dal-linked cow vigilantes shot him dead. The sole breadwinner from Haryana's Palla village, he leaves behind a four-month-pregnant wife, a two-year-old daughter, and a sister whose wedding was planned after Eid. His family says he was targeted simply for being Muslim and later labelled a cow smuggler to justify the attack. Police initially denied any gunshot, attributing his injuries to stone-pelting, while the family insists he was shot in the head without warning. An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons and Bajrang Dal members, but no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.

24 घंटे के अंदर हेडमास्टर जान मोहम्मद को बेसिक शिक्षा अधिकारी (BSA) ने सस्पेंड कर दिया। इसके बाद जान मोहम्मद की तबीयत बिगड़ गई। वो छुट्‌टी लेकर अपने घर आगरा चले गए।

बातचीत के दौरान सामने आया कि यहां कुल 235 बच्चे पढ़ते हैं। इनमें 89 मुस्लिम हैं, बाकी हिंदू बच्चे हैं। स्कूल स्टाफ में 8 लोग तैनात हैं, इनमें 7 हिंदू हैं। यानी सिर्फ हेडमास्टर ही गैर हिंदू हैं। कथित तौर पर एक हिंदूवादी नेता के आरोपों पर कि गई शिकायत होने के बाद एक्शन हो गया, लेकिन जांच अभी शुरू नहीं हुई है।

जबरन नमाज पढ़वाने, राष्ट्रगान न करवाने जैसे आरोपों पर हिन्दू टीचर हैरान थे। यहां विवाद सामने आए- स्कूल कैंपस से सटी हुई जमीन बाउंड्रीवॉल की जद में आ रही थी। इसका विरोध एक खास वर्ग की तरफ से हो रहा था। जिन लोगों ने शिकायत की, वो उन्हीं के ग्रुप के बताए जा रहे।
