The silence maintained so far on the amended Official Secret Act by the PPP, PML-N, and JUI-F leadership makes President Arif Alvi's position in the controversial laws very strong. Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Asif Zardari, Bilawel Bhutto, and Maulana Fazlur Rahman must come clean. They need to clarify whether they stand with the massive tide of public opinion that supports President Alvi or with the amended bills. They can't have the cake and eat it too.
