Kaleem Baloch was born in the historical district of Balochistan, Mastung. He opened his eyes in a colonised society, in a country which was already occupied by the new born state. He received his primary education from his home town. At the time of his educational career, he soon became aware about his surrounding. He couldn’t be silent over the oppression against his nation. He began participating in student activities and joined the student politics to learn and grow more consciously.
He officially joined student politics in his intermediate academic years and made himself affiliated with the Baloch Students Organisation Azad. He became member of BSO Azad Mastung Zone, and played a vital role in organising the students and guiding them towards the knowledge and consciousness. He had a passion for studying the revolutionary literature of oppressed nations around the world. likewise, he was an active member of the organisation and spread the ideology of a sovereign and independent society for the Baloch nation.
As revolutionaries are always seen threats by the tyrant states and they become their target. Same circumstances were of the Baloch revolutionaries, where occupying Pakistani state saw the conscious and educated Baloch youth as threat to its colonial interests in Balochistan. It began targeting the dedicated and educated members of BSO Azad. Kaleem was among the committed activist of the organisation and he was threatened by the security agencies not to be a part of the organization or else he would be killed too, but he didn’t hesitate to stand with the organisation. He did not quit his lawful and political activism under the banner of the Baloch Students Organization Azad, and stood against any threats of the colonial Pakistani state.
After every threat and intimidation, he was standing and struggling for his oppressed nation. But he was abducted from Satellite Town, Quetta, by Pakistan’s secret agencies on August 25, 2011. He was kept in dark torture cells of Pakistani military for more than a month. After more than a month of enforced disappearance, his bullet-riddled body was found in District Mastung on September 11, 2011. His body was marked with extreme signs of torture. Kaleem Baloch became another victim of kill and dump by Occupying Pakistani state.
Kaleem Baloch was one of the committed members of the organisation who continued his struggle in time of crackdown. BSO Azad pays richest tribute to the fallen comrade of the organisation. We don’t only remember his name but his extraordinary character as a dedicated Baloch revolutionary. His sacrifices will guide us in the long struggle for the liberation of Balochistan.

The occupying Pakistani military barbarism has become increasingly common in Balochistan.

Military operations in Balochistan continue to cause devastating harm to civilians. In Kardigap, Mastung, shelling struck residential homes, killing civilians and critically injuring others. A six-year-old Baloch girl later succumbed to her injuries in a Quetta hospital.
Across Balochistan, shelling, bombardment and drone attacks in civilian areas have created a persistent climate of fear and insecurity. The repeated loss of civilian lives reflects a broader pattern of state violence and repression against the Baloch population
Military operations cannot justify attacks that endanger civilian lives. The killing and injury of civilians constitute grave violations of international humanitarian and human rights law and raise serious concerns regarding Pakistan’s obligations under international conventions. This is systematic genocide against the Baloch people. From children to the elderly, no civilian is safe when being Baloch is treated as a crime. Age offers no protection, and civilian status provides no safety. The killing of Baloch civilians across Balochistan reflects a state policy aimed at silencing and suppressing an entire people through violence.

As a result of the BNM’s international outreach following the Surab airstrike, positive responses are beginning to emerge.
Ruth Coppinger TD (@RuthCoppingerSP) raised the attacks in #Balochistan and concerns over civilian casualties directly with Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
In her official reply, Foreign Minister Helen McEntee (@HMcEntee) confirmed that Ireland is closely monitoring developments in Balochistan through its Embassy in Islamabad, engaging with the EU Delegation and other partners, and raising human rights concerns directly with Pakistani officials. She also confirmed that Pakistan’s compliance with international human rights conventions remains central to the EU’s GSP+ engagement.
We thank Ruth Coppinger TD for bringing Balochistan before the Irish Parliament. This is what sustained international diplomacy achieves: Pakistan’s actions in Balochistan are being placed before governments, parliaments and international institutions.
Pakistan may try to restrict access to Balochistan, but it cannot prevent growing international scrutiny.
