Good news: I got a bronze medal for the @kaggle's UW-Madison GI Tract Image Segmentation competition! Kudos go to @fastdotai library that allows quick iteration and is flexible enough to tailor it for specific use cases.

"AI offers the potential of enhancing and accelerating genuine mathematical study and understanding. Mathematics as a profession will need to adapt to these changes in several ways. However, whether these changes ultimately benefit the field or have a destructive effect will in large part be determined by the decisions of the humans in control of this new technology."
"A Severe Misalignment of AI in Mathematics", a declaration signed by 28 Fields Medal winners.
In one of his earlier posts, Terence Tao articulated perfectly why mining the limited supply of mathematical problems with LLMs is an issue:
"In short, the indiscriminate use of powerful solution-extraction tools can achieve the immediate short-term goal of solving problems at hand, but at the cost of sustaining the ecosystem for the next wave of progress, or in understanding the progress already obtained."
You risk losing the next generation of mathematicians and never discovering new frontiers. A problem isn't necessarily the goal but a path to understanding, and understanding cannot be outsourced.
If there is enough compute to crack problems that help develop human minds, maybe point it at problems that exist to be solved?
We promised you a worker *and* player owned studio. Today, we're honored to announce we're making good on that promise with the launch of the Summer Eternal Players Non-Profit. 🔥🏚️

We’re in orbit! And just made European history: This is the first time a privately developed rocket reached orbit from continental Europe; and a testament to the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of everyone involved.
We made history. On just our second flight, we became the first commercial space company from Europe to deliver satellites into orbit. Mission 'Onward and Upward' successfully lifted off and deployed payloads into orbit. A new chapter for European spaceflight. More: https://t.co/EQ8NvB6lEo

"Unlike our interventions for cybersecurity, biology and chemistry, and distillation attempts, these safeguards will not be visible to the user. Fable 5 [...] will limit effectiveness." -- a good reason to still remember how to code.
Didn't think Github's reliability could get worse, and then they ship a bug that _randomly reverts previously merged commits_.
Betting that this caused multiple serious production issues out there.
This GitHub incident is insane. Merge queue commits have been reverting previously merged commits at random.
This not only breaks the mental contract teams have with Git in general, but is subtle enough to be really hard to unravel after the fact.
