In a Hausa interview with DW Hausa, Ishak Rabe Abubakar, son of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd.), disputed the Katsina State Government's claim that their father died from complications related to diabetes. According to him, the General died as a direct result of a snake bite while in the bandits' camp.

He also stated that their mother is still being held by the bandits, contrary to reports claiming that she had been released.

A Nigerian, Abdul-Raheem Mansur Isa Yelwa, has emerged victorious in a prestigious international Qur’an recitation competition held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Abdul-Raheem is from Bauchi State, and the son of Sheikh Professor Mansur Isa Yelwa, the Chief Imam of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Central Mosque, Yelwa Campus, Bauchi.

Allah has blessed Abdul-Raheem with exceptional Qur’anic recitation skills and a beautiful voice that touches the hearts of listeners.

His remarkable achievement has brought pride and honour to Nigeria in the Muslim world, particularly in the fields of Qur’an memorization and recitation.
