I'm just glad this particular mystery is finally solved, though! (insert Scooby doo gif here as appropiate)
(this was back when the cap would be hit in 2030)

@Superlion_cro Unfortunately we don't know still, this would be a question better answered by the @cronosapp team.
FWIW, we still have until roughly ((5B - 1.045B)/0.544)=7.27 years from now ~ 15 August 2030 to solve this mystery!🥸
I don't think there's much else to say that haven't yet been brought up, but from a validator's perspective:
Between a choice of the chain abruptly dying in 2027 due to rewards going to 0 and everyone unstaking, and the chain continuing to chug along, I'd pick number two.
This is the beginning of a new economic era for Cronos.
A governance proposal is live today. It transitions CRO from inflation-funded rewards to a revenue-backed model - powered by the Cronos App and the broader ecosystem.
Here is what's changing.
Sidenote: the 2 final ADRs committed into the primary Github repos are significantly shorter/condensed and less technical/informational, or do not sufficiently explain the rationale for their design.

Oh, hey, looks like it's time for me to un-lurk.
Bonus tip on understanding the new $CRO tokenomics: paste these two architecture decision documents into your favorite AI, *then* ask them to break it down for you.

@Disperze_@Allnodes@NodeStake_top I hadn't realized that the Evmos discord had completely disappeared until just now. Is there any other appropriate channel to keep track of this?
@coinbaron@Albert_TheVoid@lesliechn This is correct, there is currently no fee burn mechanism on Cronos. EIP1559 technically only describes a method to dynamically adjust transaction fees based on block demand, but does not strictly require it to be burnt -- the explorer displaying it as such is a mistake.
Damn it, my shitposts keep coming true. I really should look into opening one of those highly-leveraged longs next time I write whacky tinfoil hat theories...
My 2 Q's:
1. Has the crypto landscape or internal strategy shifted regarding CDC's relationship with @cronosnetwork and the $CRO token? With $CRO now featured more prominently, are changes coming to how https://t.co/l99r7vOsLP engages with Cronos or its role in the ecosystem?
2. This AMA comes 3 weeks after prop 29's release, one with significant implications for $CRO holders and the broader @cronosapp community. Why the long silence, and can we expect more transparency and timely communication on major changes going forward?
Behind every seamless cross-chain transaction, there’s an unsung hero—relayers. These numbers from @SmartStake show who’s been putting in the work to keep @Fetch_ai interchain connections alive and thriving over the last 30 and 90 days.
Salute to the top operators:

IBC is more than tech—it’s a movement. Respect to the builders🫡

Note that the Cronos POS chain v5 upgrade has also reduced the max inflation rate from 3.7% > 1%. This reduces the raw on-chain staking APR by about 5%, from 8.2% to 7.85% now (after deducting community tax).
Card staking APR should now be 7.07% after CDC's 10% commissions.
Another 50M $CRO burn on the horizon 🔥
A 50M $CRO burn proposal has been submitted on #Cronos POS chain. If passed, another 50M CRO will go up in flames.
🗓️ Validators will vote over the next 2 weeks.

5/ 📊 Relaying by the numbers
Let’s talk impact. Here’s what relayers collectively achieve across @cosmos:
📊 IBC Relayer Stats (Top 20)
📦 52,083,648 packets relayed across the ecosystem
🔗 +307 chains connected through IBC
💲 Total Relayed Value: $8,974,768,927
💰 $215,817 in fees covered
These numbers show our efforts to making Cosmos a connected ecosystem.

@dpz999 Yup! It's impossible to retrieve the original from Ethereum. Everyone just apparently seemed to latched on to the word "unburn" because it sounds catchy, but the official term used was "reissue" => mint from scratch.
Dear fellow Cronos POS Chain validators, I would like to cordially invite you to consider a coordinated action in response to Proposal 29. Something small and peaceful, but sends a clear message.
