Prediction: we are about to see a whipsaw towards real life experiences unlike anything we have seen in the past two decades
Artificial intelligence is getting to a point where it is impossible to tell the difference between a replica and reality
Altered digital images, voice, videos, and everything in between
The only solace is in the physical realm where these things cannot easily be copied over by a chatbot or software
Real world experience will be the ultimate moat, above all. Invest accordingly.
There is a kind of poverty that is materially poor but rich in a lot of practical ways.
There are towns in rural Italy, where an old couple lives together in a stone house in the mountains. She has a flower garden, and he sits on the balcony to smoke and read in the morning.
That couple is poor by American standards. They shop at the local markets, eat eggs from their neighbour's chickens. Healthcare is covered by the state. Their church is not fancy. Their clothes are bought from the town market. 10 euro sandals.
But they own their house and did not have to spend 40 years being exploited by a bank paying for it several times with interest. They just bought it outright. They are loved by their neighbours. They can walk around their towns safely because its not packed full of 60IQ savages (for now).
The food they buy is not poisoned. The work the did when they were younger: teachers, nurses, engineers, was just real and normal work. They didn't feel the need to come up with elaborate schemes to become millionaires. Their grandchildren visit them every weekend.
This, too, is wealth.
The goal is not to make everyone Elon Musk. The goal is to make a system where this kind of nonna nonno wealth is achievable for more people.
Let the young man in his desperation go out and hunt.
If he is killed by the elephant, his poverty will end.
If he kills the elephant, his poverty will end.

So in order to do anything beyond my neighborhood
I must operate a 5000lb machine, going 70 miles an hour, surrounded by the most anxious, depressed and ADHD-riddled population in the world,
half of whom are drunk/stoned/eating or checking Instagram?

"Nobody is coming to save you"
Perhaps not, but consider what may be going on in the background at any given moment:
- Someone is working diligently on a cure for a health condition that you or one of your loved ones may benefit from in the future
- Someone is developing technology that will eventually allow you to catapult your life into excellence and live out your dreams.
- Someone is in the process of creating the best film you will ever watch that inspires you and sharpens your perspective.
- Someone is writing the best book that you will ever read, arranging the words in a way that resonates with you so deeply it changes the course of your entire life
- Your future spouse is unknowingly developing their character in time with yours, so that by the time you meet you match more perfectly.
They are learning, presently, essential lessons to pass on to you & your children.
Nobody is coming to save you, fine. But your highest blessings are constantly developing beneath the surface.
Too capitalist to believe in government run grocery stores but too socialist to believe that we should justify leaving the younger generation behind in the name of shareholder profits
That more or less sums up my belief system
@scmedicinals My favorite flavor is the lemon lime. I had some of my best pumps and most satisfying workouts while drnking them throughout. They taste significantly better than the other brands like nutricost electrolytes
This was an eye opener from Jensen Huang
When asked whether he would rather relive his 20s or be 20 years old today, this is what he had to say:
"I thought our 20s were happier than these 20s. I think everyone deserves some time to be oblivious, and not wear all of the world's problems on their shoulders on Day 1
We are raising a generation that is very cynical and too informed
They are cynical, not because they are inherently cynical. They are cynical because they see so much stuff. It is too much stuff
You have to build up some internal reserve of optimism. You have to build up some reserve of goodness."
The solution to everything is honestly just to be more relaxed. Not making things deeper than they should be. Loosening rigidity in your perception of life
You're into self improvement. You found a pocket of the internet where others are also about it. But create too many assumptions around your identity and suddenly you start to take yourself way too seriously
Keep moving the ball forward. Just remember to chill out. You're abiding by a regimen now but so what if you stop for a bit. You didn't hit your sleep protocol. Pour some coffee and carry on with your day
There's no image to uphold. No self imposed mental fragility. You don't need to be afraid of not being a certain way. You simply create your own misery by thinking a certain way exists. You become insufferable
Paradoxically the most enlightened people are actually the least aware of this idea. No nose being stuck up to this or that. No "they don't know I'm different" meme of the guy standing by himself at a party
Doing what gets you going. Enjoying the present moment. Lessening the importance of trying to be so you can just be instead. More effortless progress because there's fewer questions to ponder and not as much friction preventing movement. Flow with it all
i genuinely do not believe people treat you how they feel about you. i believe they treat you based on the state of mind they’re in. some people unintentionally hurt you because they are at war with themselves suffering, and suffering with things that has nothing to do with you.
I was getting on a plane and saw this old lady say to a ten year-old, "I'm worried, Jimmy. My phone's already only at 8%" and he responded "You're so cooked, grandma"
If you truly like yourself, are proud of yourself, are excited about what you can do, and express that -
Oh the hate that you will get.
The people who will try to "put you in your place" or "tell you how it is."
Never stop. Never listen.
Keep getting excited about life.
