@ElieNYC@ThiefPenitent I am a white dude:
This is the truth.
If you're a white dude and you don't know this yet, then your Black friends (if you have any) aren't as close to you as you think they are.
@VicedRhino I used to avoid "Nazi" and use "fascist" because they would say "I'm not a Nazi! I'm not a German in 1939... etc"
Now they just straight up admit it.
@CerberusXt I'd like to know what they think they mean by "predominantly male franchise."
Consumers?
Creators?
Characters?
Vibes?
Sure, the fanbase has been more male than female historically, but that has changed a lot in 50 yrs.
As always it's just whining that things have changed.
@quoting_mungo@mistressmatisse I'm old enough to remember this. It's the same playbook. I should find an exemplary video clip or article to post every time it comes up.
@deadbeatregular I actually just had dinner with a friend who did this in the 90s. It paid for a place in SF (that she subletted while gone) and did whatever the hell she wanted for the rest of the year. She loved it. Did it several times.
But she was there less than half of the year.
@esjesjesj I was going to say it was a great story and they are ASSUMING they can't have children. I wanted to look it up to see if it was public info, but I found this article. They are Gender Refugees! They literally fled Missouri because of harsh treatment:

@ashleylynch Now you've put the idea of a licensed Cronenberg line of sex toys in my mind and they are very much not my thing and much, much more disturbing than this.
@GailSimone Wolverine is my favorite, but not to have the powers for a day.
I was thinking Jean Gray at her most powerful because I think of her as being able to do just about anything.
Loving all the Nightcrawlers. Great answer.
@venomynora That the language and ideas are out there is great, and I guess I'm hopeful because I think all the hate (and laws) are a reaction to expanding acceptance.
@venomynora Absolutely. I'm sorry you went through that.
Honestly, I was very lucky. I was more confused than ashamed. In a weird twist, I'd heard of being trans before I'd heard of bisexuality, even though I knew an out gay adult.
I hope figuring out your gender just becomes normalized.
