@ADCVanguard_ The opportunity he had to secure all of these has already been lost. It appears that Obi is reluctant to participate in party primaries. Even if he eventually emerges, the vacuum created at this point could become a major challenge for him.
@Pharmacio001 This situation is deeply troubling and reflects poorly on the country’s leadership. Wike was able to pursue a second term in office, so why is Fubara being denied the same opportunity? Why is this kind of leadership still being tolerated at the highest levels?”
@NDCNigNews What’s useful than writing them all off is learning how to evaluate them critically:Look at their track record, not just their promises,Check independent sources of information, Pay attention to policies, not just speeches,Notice consistency between what they say and what they do
@NDCVanguard_ Politicians mix of different people: some genuinely try to serve the public, while others may prioritize personal interests. For example, figures like Mandela are often remembered for principled leadership, while others in different contexts have faced criticism for dishonesty.
@ruffydfire Moving from one difficult situation straight into another, escaping one problem only to get caught in a different one
“From one trap to another.”
“Escaping one trap only to fall into another.”
@abdullahayofel We outrightly reject the actions of these misguided groups whose past conduct has disrupted the peace and true teachings of Islam. We do not identify with the ideology of so-called clerics and troublemakers who do not represent us and certainly cannot speak on behalf of Islam.
Ehn-ehn. Come out fully to say, your Think Yoruba First or Yoruba Nesan is purely Islamophobic. The legbegbe criticism and denials just didn't cut it.
Several Muslims in Oyo faced persecution in so many forms. Some were sold into slavery persistently.
Some were killed . A particular slaughter of Muslims in Oyo Palace precincts triggered an exodus of several of them to towns like Iseyin, Kuwo, Saki, Igboho etal.
Perhaps you don't know that, just like several other itinerant preachers then, in the 17th,18th centuries that littered Yorubaland, Alimi, was like several of them, he was in Oyo, before fleeing for Iseyin.
Idoluwo mosque in Lagos, for example was built in 1774, Enu-Owa Mosque in 1787.
Several Oyo families who fled included those of Sheikh Adam Al-Ilory, and Ajikobi, who later then left for Ilorin.
Many of you "Yoruba activists" talk in one breadth of "Yorubas being majority" in Ilorin, yet never sit down to ask why those "Oyos" who became Ilorin were adamantly anti-Oyo.
Ajikobi's brother Salu, was captured by Oyo forces and sold into slavery. He would later be saved in Sierra-Leone, came back to Badagry and his son, the famous Muhammed Shitta-Bey would become a famous Muslim leader in Lagos, building the Shitta-Bey mosque in 1894.
Back to the Yoruba Muslims sold into slavery. They were so much in Brazil for example, that they led the most consequential slave rebellion, in Brazil, still talked about till today.
The Male Rebellion of 1835. Google it.
Interestingly, that was the same year Old Oyo got destroyed.
Some of those Muslim Yoruba families, after the slave rebellion purchased their freedom and returned.
That is why names like Pedros, Tiamiyu Gomes, Martins, Agusto, Yahaya Tokunboh, Da Silva, Salvador are prominent in early Lagos Muslim families of the 19th century.
If those names don't ring a bell, read up on Imam Lawal Basil Agusto, or Alhaji Jibril Martins (1888-1959).
There are several other things to counter here. But please, the Barubas (Kaiama) defeated Oyo empire in 1783.
Again, Glad that the gloves are off, and we have been able to establish, your ThinkYorubaFirst and Yoruba Nesan group are profoundly anti-Islam.
Game On!
Inset is a picture of Sheikh Adam Al-Ilori (Aboriginal Oyo, now Ilorin) and late Alaafin of Oyo) Lamidi Adeyemi.
So, purists like you can understand historical contexts
@Dr_AliyuTilde Prof. Amupitan’s 2020 brief, which contains dozens of exaggerated and misleading claims about religious conflict in Nigeria, demonstrates a level of bias incompatible with the neutrality required of anyone seeking to hold a public office touching on religious affairs.
If ASUU’s negotiations are to be addressed, their demand should focus solely on the implementation of the 2009 agreement with the government. Otherwise, their efforts may end in frustration.
@TaxDoctorNG@realDonaldTrump@tedcruz America has hidden agendas. To steal our resources and transport foreigners to Nigeria as they intend to evacuate people to Nigeria
