The dilemma for President Tinubu is that he wants to win the Rivers 2027 presidential election without complaints, he wants to win hands down, but he needs Fubara to make that happen. Fubara has the support of ordinary people, but at the same time, he doesn’t want to lose Wike.
- BKO said that President Tinubu has intervened in the impeachment process initiated by the Rivers House of Assembly against Governor Fubara.
President Tinubu Pens Tribute to Kaduna Governor Uba Sani on His 55th Birthday
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, as he celebrates his 55th birthday on December 31, describing him as a "younger brother and friend in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria."
In a detailed statement released through the Statehouse and shared via official channels, including the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre and Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Governor Sani's lifelong commitment to justice, freedom, and national unity.
President Tinubu highlighted the governor's journey from a pro-democracy activist during Nigeria's military era to a reformist senator and now a compassionate leader in Kaduna State. He commended Sani's role in the passage of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020, which he said laid a foundation for financial stability, fintech innovation, and expanded credit access.
The President noted significant progress under Governor Sani's administration since May 2023, including fostering peace and reconciliation in a once tension-prone state. He specifically pointed to the restoration of calm in areas like Birni Gwari, where farmers have returned to their lands and agricultural activities have rebounded, thanks to inclusive engagement with traditional and religious leaders.
Tinubu also lauded the governor's achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, industrialization, agriculture, and equitable development, describing them as reflective of a clear vision for long-term prosperity. He described Sani as a "trusted and reliable ally" in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The tribute emphasized Sani's trajectory as an inspiring example for younger generations: from student leader and activist who chose conviction over comfort, to a statesman guided by humility, empathy, and resolve.
President Tinubu concluded by wishing Governor Uba Sani good health, strength, greater accomplishments, and renewed wisdom in his continued selfless service to Kaduna State and Nigeria.

Tyler Perry must’ve been a maltreated Nigerian woman in a past life, because why do his films always end with emotional brutality?
His latest, Straw, is not just a movie — it’s pain, it’s reality, and it wrecked me. 🧵

I am a young lawyer and law abiding citizen practicing in Nigeria. My N17m may have gone down the drain in Heritage Bank. NDIC's insurance is a joke. They say they are offering us 5m maximum statutory insurance payment. Means that poor Nigerians and small businesses would lose whatever amount they have if they are given N5m. NDIC's promise that they will pay the rest of depositors' funds after liquidation, we all know, is a joke. Several times, I tried to withdraw my money last month but withdrawals were restricted. I did all I could to no avail. No way. They told us thay the bank was speaking with investors. We all had faith that CBN will keep to their promise that never again would CBN watch and allow banks fail and depositors' funds to sink. We had faith that they would deal with the bank like they dealt with Skye Bank and intervened with the bridge bank structure that materialised to Polaris Bank, which ensured that poor depositors never lost a dime in deposit funds. I had faith in CBN's reassurance that they will never let any bank fail again. Why would a Central Bank let a bank fail in 2024 with no guarantee of FULLY and IMMEDIATELY returning depositors' funds? What more can erode faith in the banking system and financial system than the fact that the CBN can wake up one morning and revoke the licence of a bank they have held out to be a bank they licence and supervise?
