Update to my previous tweet. Some BA staff are likely to hear from August 7 if they've lost their jobs. Really feel for the many loyal, hard working BA workers (many of whom I've spoken to in recent weeks) who at the very least deserve clarity from the airline.
@BBCNews@SkyNews@itvnews BA never asked us for reasonable change which we would have given! All a scheme to get us to lose between 50-65% of our wages which will result in losing our homes, our health. and ONLY if rehired! #bAbetrayal#WeAreBA#BArbaric
Please add your name to the petition demanding an end to "fire and rehire". It's a loophole that lets companies fire staff and rehire them on a way worse contract - just like British Airways are doing now. Please add your name: https://t.co/uVKlNeebZ7
I've signed the @BaBetrayal pledge & stand with BA workers- both in my constituency & across the country.
I've had hundreds of emails from BA workers- many of whom have served loyally for years.
Their treatment by BA has been a national disgrace.
Getting a bit sick fed up of UK Gov't ministers saying they feel sorry for aviation workers yet they won't lift a finger to help them.
Thousands of aviation jobs are under threat in my constituency alone, with tens, possibly hundreds, of thousands across UK.

Opposition to British Airways despicable plans to sack so many long standing staff has united MPs across the House of Commons -
Great to see Conservative @CommonsTrans Chair @HuwMerriman join @unitetheunion and @lloyd_rm@peterkyle Labour MP’s rallying against job losses.
Obviously BA employees are just a number and Wilie Walsh is not concerned that while he is sipping champagne, we are struggling about our future! #BAbetrayal#NationalDisgrace#WeAreBA
Sharon Graham, executive officer @unitetheunion said: “Willie Walsh bragging about celebrating with champagne is cruel and callous when BA staff are worried sick about paying rent or mortgages and putting food on the table for their families.

and a contract that allows #BritishAirways to put crew on 2 months unpaid leave. But don't worry about paying your mortgage or bills you will still get "perks such as free foreign flights.".
But while Alistair couldn't give 2 shits about how his mate Willie treats workers...2/3
What a callous & craven man Alistair is.
He is happy to defend his pal Willie & attack unions/workers as they won’t agree to “reasonable” (!) changes in their existing T&C's.
He admits that "some on legacy contracts will suffer" yes Alistair a 60% cut in salary ("reasonable") 1/3
Holiday bookings 'explode' yet airlines are still proposing massive pilot job cuts.
This is why we've continually been saying there should be a jobs moratorium until a proper analysis has taken place, not knee-jerk panicking from airlines.

Another chance to speak up for the aviation workforce and highlight #BritishAirways treatment of staff. Thanks to the Secretary of State for Work & Pensions, Therese Coffey, for strong words on the correct intent of the furlough scheme. #backinthehold#babetrayal
@ITVJoel@HuwMerriman this is a smoke screen! It will be a lot more than 20% trust me, trust BA employees! NO T&C’s are discussed. For commuters this is even worse! @BaBetrayal #BAbetrayal#StandwithBAworkers
British Airways has made a new offer to its cabin crew today, promising that no one will have their pay cut by more than 20%. @unitetheunion had calculated that crew faced income falls of up to 70%. This is the email that was sent. BA has put c37,000 staff at risk of redundancy.
