SHE’S HERE! ROYAL CARIBBEAN’S STAR OF THE SEAS, ARRIVES AT PORT CANAVERAL FOR THE FIRST TIME: The world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas, arrived this morning at Port Canaveral for the very first time, sailing past Jetty Park with a water cannon tugboat escort before docking at the recently renovated Cruise Terminal 1.
The new 248,663-ton Icon Class ship will operate a series of special showcase voyages and be officially named by legendary music icon Diana Ross before launching seven-day easter and western Caribbean sailings from the Port at the end of this month.
Be sure to check out a “Star”-Studded Sailabration, a fun wave out event on Saturday, August 16 at Jetty Park coinciding with the afternoon departure of Star of the Seas from Port Canaveral. Festivities kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will feature food trucks, themed giveaways, a DJ and more. Attendance at the event is free, however parking passes for Jetty Park are required and should be purchased in advance by visiting https://t.co/oRwpRnSoHY.
