The NHS is genuinely an awful employer.
It’s been a little over a year since I left and joined a GP practice and it’s been wonderful.
I look back at my time as a resident doctor, and particularly my time as co-chair of the BMA, and remember continuously reflecting on how bad things were.
Your concerns are legitimate.
The old guard doctors are often out of touch.
The media don’t have a clue.
The public can not comprehend.
The NHS says a lot of utter nonsense and take no action - they either don’t understand or don’t care.
THINGS ARE AWFUL FOR RESIDENT DOCTORS.
The lack of agency.
The lack of autonomy.
The disrespect.
The insane and illogical hoops you’re asked to jump through.
Everything you hate is legitimate.
Strike.
You’re justified in doing so.
A victory for patient safety: our case against the GMC over their failure to properly regulate Associates is now heading straight to the High Court!
Mr Justice Chamberlain ruled it raises serious issues for patients and he granted us permission and expedition.

Nothing junior about leading an arrest team.
Nothing junior about looking after the entire hospital overnight.
Nothing junior about deliviring life-saving treatment.
This is a welcome change, part of the cultural shift towards greater respect towards the profession.
We've just had our second meeting with the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
We are pleased to announce that formal negotiations will begin on Tuesday 23rd July. We have set an expectation that these will conclude by the time of our executive meeting on 16th August.
Oh my, this is is brilliant from @RobLaurensonD4P
🚨 Strike action has cost the govt £3bn
🚨 Full pay restoration would have only cost £1.3bn
🚨 Re 35% demand - a physician’s assistant is paid 35% more than a fully qualified doctor 🤬🤬🤬
Today we launch legal action against
@gmcuk over its decision to apply good medical practice equally to PAs & AAs, & the use of “medical professionals” to describe these professions
PAs/AAs are not doctors – blurring the lines can have tragic consequences https://t.co/OtsO5y7yfm
There is nothing 'junior' about junior doctors. This afternoon #ARM2024 recognises this and has voted through proposals to rename to “RESIDENT DOCTORS” from September 2024.
More details to follow... #RDC coming soon!
Join us for the Southwest + Wessex Regional Webinar on June 13, 2024, from 18:30 to 19:30 on Microsoft Teams.
Get updates on strike actions and ask questions to our special guest, Dr. Vivek Trivedi, Co-Chair of the UKDC. Ask your local rep for a link or drop us a DM to join!
When they asked the panel what skills PAs brought to the MDT, they skipped the question.
LOL.
These people don’t deserve your respect.
They are government puppets.
Disheartening to see snippets of @RCPhysicians EGM
Seems their senior leader motives aren’t in the general interest of their members, other doctors, even public safety.
It’s dangerous when anyone, let alone those in power, refuse to genuinely reassess when concerns are raised
“Hello, I’m Dr Manirajan, what’s brought you in today?”

Donating blood as doctors prepare to head back to the pickets. The NHS has a blood shortage and donating saves lives.
You can book an appointment to donate at https://t.co/rrIC5C0rBq.
#DoctorsGiveBlood
Doctors have already given so much.
Tomorrow, there will be 3 big pickets in Birmingham, London and Manchester.
If you can't make it to the pickets, doctors, can you give just a little more?
#DoctorsGiveBlood
Woah, what a great calculator!
As a LTFT doctor, it took me agessssss to understand my payslip and this makes it SO MUCH EASIER to check whether pay is accurate!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Whilst we are all on strike #DoctorsStrike,
it is important to spend this time to check if your pay is actually accurate.
@Doctors_Vote's new Pay & Payslip Calculator is here:

My ballot has arrived.
It’s time to tell them again- an easy YES to extend the mandate for strike action and YES for ASOS.
Let’s make it even clearer and louder this time.
