@PhilipTKingston@billionbeers@DallasTexasTV They're talking about the TOTAL economic impact, not just revenue of the fair.. Hotels, tourism in Dallas, other boosts in business, etc all contribute to that $680m number.
@FinsCanes1980@BrendanMcInnis@jasrifootball I'm not sure how you can be so willfully ignorant when someone with an advanced understanding of this area of the law is telling you how it works and is applied in a prosecutorial setting. Please cite a source that says how any of this is a felony, because none of it is.
@FinsCanes1980@BrendanMcInnis@jasrifootball First offense is a Misdemeanor B. Must cause serious bodily injury for a F3. Nothing I've read states there's anything close to what Dallas County would take as SBI, so it would only be a Misdemeanor charge. I'm a Dallas cop, I know what I'm talking about lmao
@FinsCanes1980@BrendanMcInnis@jasrifootball No felony was committed though. And it doesn't get upgraded, nothing enhances the penalty grade for possession charges except for being in a drug-free zone or by weight alone.
@DarkEnergy31@Jonitalia90@jasrifootball Fleeing the scene of an accident is a Misdemeanor B, same as the possession of this amount of marijuana. Depending on severity of injuries, if any, the fleeing the scene could turn into a felony though.
@FinsCanes1980@BrendanMcInnis@jasrifootball It doesn't though. It's a Misdemeanor B amount of marijuana, Dallas PD would seize it and release the individual possessing that much.
My #Thanksgiving Message to Law Enforcement
To American Law Enforcement:
President Teddy Roosevelt once said, โLet us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us; and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips and shows itself in deeds.โ
As members of law enforcement, you embody our former Presidentโs words. You have raised your right hand and swore an oath to ensure the safety of those you serve โ at any cost.
The Profession we love is not short on challenges, but fortunately it is also not short on men and women who rise to meet them head on. I firmly believe the vast majority of the public recognizes this, too, and is grateful for your dedication to fighting crime and disorder.
As you put on your uniform and gun belt, know that you are part of something bigger than yourself. You each share a place in a storied history alongside those who have dedicated themselves to the service of others โ and the all too many who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is your solemn responsibility to carry on their important work.
Thank you for choosing to serve our communities, and for being the future of policing. I salute you, and wish you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Bill Bratton
@CieraRae2@DFWscanner That's what happens when any vehicle hits a stationary vehicle at highway speeds. Sedans can do that much damage in those conditions.
