He took his wife to an Imam so that he could perform Ruqyah (Qur’anic healing) for her. After the Imam recited for a long time, the Jinn said that he would leave her body, but only on one condition.

The Imam said, “There is no condition. Just leave her body.”

The Jinn insisted that his condition must be accepted. The Imam said, “Tell us your condition so we can hear it.”

The Jinn said, “I will leave her body and enter her husband’s body instead.” Out of fear and shock, the husband stepped back. The Imam said, “Absolutely not! That will not happen!”

The Jinn said, “Do you know why I want to enter his body?” The Imam replied, “No.” The Jinn said, “He does not pray.”

The husband began swearing that he did pray.

The Imam then said, “Since that is the case, leave her body and go back near their house. If you see that the husband does not go to the mosque for prayer, then enter his body.”

The Jinn agreed.

A few days later, the woman called the Imam to thank him. She said, “By Allah, he is now the one who opens the mosque door every day. Sometimes, he is even the one who calls the Adhan.”

The Imam smiled and said, “There are many ways of commanding what is good and forbidding what is evil.”

The truth is that the whole story was a setup between the Imam and the woman, intended to make her husband start praying regularly.
