Recovering Hill comms guy. Lapsing Coloradan, aspiring (from away) Mainer. Back in the day: @RepGolden @SenatorSinema @SenatorCantwell @gmmb @ColbyCollege.
Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) calls his opposition to an assault weapons ban a mistake after the deadly mass shooting in his district.
"The time has now come for me to take responsibility for this failure...for those who have been harmed, I ask for forgiveness"
Just want to make it clear to a world that doesn't know Lewiston that it is typically a safe, interesting place with a vibrant immigrant community, an elite college and a rich history. Don't pay any heed to a racist minority that loves to badmouth the place.
@bangordailynews Really sorry to see this. I always enjoyed talking with Mal and admired his ability to ignore the noise and grab onto the substance. Reading this, I wish I'd asked him more about his early reporting years. What a career and legacy. RIP.
Out of office is on, tweet notifications are off, and as weird as it feels to type, this week is my last w/ @RepGolden/@Golden4congress. It wraps up ~seven (7!) years on the Hill.
I've been told that life's not all about politics, and I should probly go find out if that's true.
What's next? I'm gonna spend a couple weeks catering to these guys' (and @Zilejo's) every need and then if all goes to plan you can find me down the road at Oxbow pouring beers for a living.
Happy trails!
Thanks as well to the #mepolitics reporters, editors, and producers I've been lucky enough to work with. I've done this gig in 5 states now and can confidently say you all are head and shoulders above the rest. Thanks for bearing with me over the past four years!
