I have been reporting that local cadres are systematically filling voter registration cards using the names of individuals who never appeared to register, and, in some cases, people who do not even exist.

According to multiple reports, officials have been instructed to register 1,500 voters per polling station regardless of whether eligible voters actually show up. The plan is then to cast ballots in those names on the eve of the election or on election day itself.

The objective is clear: to manufacture the appearance of a massive voter turnout and counter opposition claims that large numbers of citizens have been unable to register because of the ongoing conflicts in Amhara and Oromia.

Over the past weeks, I have posted evidence showing cadres filling out registration cards inside their offices. Here is further evidence: stacks of completed registration cards prepared in advance.

ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ግን እምቢ ንመግዛእቲ ብምባል፡ ኣብ ባሕቲ መስከረም 1961 ብረት ኣልዒሉ መሰሉን ናጽነቱን ንምርግጋጽ፡ ክቃለስ ናብ በረኻ ወጺኡ፣ ንናጽነት ድማ ብኽቡር መስዋእቲ ደልዩዋ። ደሙን ዓጽሙን ከፊሉ፡ ብዓቢኡ ከኣ እታ ክብርቲ ህይወቱ ወፍዩላ። ድሕሪ ናይ 30 ዓመታት መሪር ቃልሲ ድማ፡ ኣብ 24 ግንቦት 1991 ነቲ ‘ሆ!’ እናበለ ዶብ ኤርትራ ሰጊሩ ዓድታትና ዘንደደን፡ ተኸታታሊ ወራራት እናፈጸመ ክኽፈል ዘይነበሮ መስዋእቲ ዘኽፈለናን ብምስዓር፡ ናጽነትና ብክቡር ዋጋ ህይወትና ኣረጋጊጽና።

እቲ እናፈከረን እናተጃህረን “ኤርትራ መሬታ እምበር፡ ህዝባ ኣየድልየናን እዩ” ኢሉ ኣብ ኤርትራ ዓስኪሩ ዝነበረ ሰራዊት መግዛእቲ ድማ፡ ከምቲ ናብ ኤርትራ እናኣተወ ዝነበሮ መንፈስ ዘይኮነ፡ ዝመውት ሞይቱ፡ እቲ ዝበዝሐ ድማ እናተመሻኸነ ኣብ ትሕቲ ምርኮ ህዝባዊ ሰራዊት ኣትዩ። ብሰላም ድማ ፡ናብ ዓዱ ተፋንዩ።

እዛ ንርእያ ዘለና ስእሊ ድማ፡ እቲ ብኻልኣይ ኣብዮታዊ ሰራዊት ዝፍለጥ ወራሪ ሰራዊት ደርግ ቅድሚ ናብ ዓዱ ምፍናዉ ኣብ ትሕቲ ሓለዋ ተጋዳላይ ከሎ እትምስክር ስእሊ እያ።
