We mentioned that a reversal looked possible at the lower fib level, but never expected this much of a move, so much hitting another fib level!

According to the Finance Ministry
7.4 Crore people filed Income Tax Returns for the last year (5% of population)
5.16 Cr showed ZERO tax liability

So besides corporate tax the country is running on the taxes os just 2.24 Cr people (1.5% of population). State/Central Govt employees are ~4 Crores, most would be filing returns i.e. private individuals filing returns is very very low.

It clearly reflects widespread tax avoidance. Government is linking the honest tax payers more and more via higher cess and surcharges

Paying 30% vs. paying 10% makes a big difference on disposable income.
