Subnet Zero

Hi there! I write tutorials about building and managing large-scale infrastructure and code.

I've seen enough. It's over.

I'm feeling triumphant about figuring out how to translate hexagonal shader code into something compatible with FastNoise so that I can create procedural terrain meshes that look like a hex grid but also like a landscape

@grebetrees Anyone who involves a cat in their very important and delicate experiments has never seen a cat around anything very important or delicate. Once that cat collapses that wave function, they're going to look elsewhere to slake their thirst for destruction.

@lucio_d_franco I guess my last few years of being productive in Rust without GATs were a hallucination. 😆

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

This is why I love @OakThielbar

@compiledwrong GitLab might be worth a look if you haven't considered it already https://t.co/VYdOCe30NH

[Visual Studio @VisualStudio]

@OakThielbar We're glad to hear this! Are you currently working on version 16.7.5? It was released very recently, and it's shipping several fixes such as this one: https://t.co/D94wTSLFCI.

Parenting 101. You do not present options you would not be ok with being picked. A toddler will often pick the option they think will be the most shocking, least desired, or most destructive. If this hits 1k retweets I'll write a parenting book about ...the fucking president

@Discover Do you have an offering similar to your checking account suitable for businesses?

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex There's no supervisor available for me to wait on, apparently. I think, at this point, I'll call it good and work on transitioning my company somewhere else. Unbelievable.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex Thanks, I'll try that.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex Still no call from a supervisor. Should I give up at this point? That's 2 promises, I think, that I would get a call back within 24 hours.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex Still no call...

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

An @AmexBusiness employee called to welcome me to Bus. Plat. and tell me all the perks and bonuses that came with the card. I followed her advice. It triggered a financial review. The result was limit reductions to both of my Amex cards, and put me over the limit the on one.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex And yet, the website still shows I have my ridiculously reduced rate, and *still* no manager has called me.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex I just got an e-mail asking me if I know about all the fancy features of my card. It even said this:

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex No calls so far

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex @AskAmex I'll also mention that every person I have talked to has discouraged me from speaking with a supervisor, and has told me they will just tell me the same thing.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex And finally, she said she’d schedule a call with a supervisor who might (or might not) call me back tomorrow, because they were “very busy”.

[Subnet Zero @zero_subnet]

@AskAmex I managed to get to a representative, who thought I wanted a limit increase and transferred me to the wrong department. A nice woman there started to re-explain the process of a financial review to me, despite my assurances that I was by now VERY familiar with them.
