omatalk 0.9.0 just got a massive upgrade: the Python Daemon is now Rust.

First audio ~3x faster (~665 → ~210 ms). Stop under 50 ms. Idle RSS drops ~1.3 GB → ~510 MB without a restart.

One binary. Same socket, same config, same bar plugin.

weekend experiment: had agents rewrite #omatalk (local TTS for #omarchy) from python to rust. opus 5.5 + pstack doing the heavy lifting, me steering.

5/ agent teamwork: i'd flag a problem, agents would measure it, fix it, and prove it.

memory stuck after long reads → idle rest hands it back, no hacky restart anymore.

pronunciation dictionaries → precompiled at build time, ~80MB less RAM and faster startup #ftw
