sneks & ladders
working on multiplayer and got a few updates done:
- starcraft elo style ladder system
- auth and player profile stats
- chat
sneks ladder:
your rating is settled once per life, not per kill. it rewards a strong run rather than a single lucky bite. each life is scored from the duels it contained against other signed-in players
a life with no duels against other rated players leaves your rating exactly where it was; you can’t lose rating to a quiet run, and you can’t farm bots to gain it
- everyone starts at 1000
- beating someone rated higher than you is worth a lot
- losing to someone rated higher costs very little
- an easy win nudges you up only a touch, while an upset loss to a lower-rated player stings
