Life has been a crazy ride. But we're so back!
- Unity3D Stays
- Tactical Stays
- Pew Pew Stays
- But The Grid was Dropped!
What does it mean?! You will see soon. π
In light of @unity's recent betrayal of his community and old values, I am putting this project permanently on hold. @godotengine and @UnrealEngine are the only feasible alternatives for now.
Happy new year!π
For everyone asking, the game is going well! My current plan is to finish all systems and a short demo by the end of this year!
Thanks to all of you guys that keep following the development of my dream!

@matteograizzaro I'm alive! π. Just spend too much time working in boring code that produces nothing to show. I think I'm years from a final release so I have no idea π₯²
The images above are wip mockups of the final version. Near targets (Jan, Feb, Mar) are the UI updates, adding gamepad input support, and a new movement system for the units.
@Techwizz01@AllinAllgaming Just to clarify. I'm not bashing Godot or anything like that. I'm eager to see what they will accomplish. It's just the state that it's for the needs of this project. If it was something less complex I could probably use Godot. If it was more graphical intensive I would use UE5.
After almost 2 years of porting it from #GodotEngine to #unity3d it's "playable" again. There are a lot of systems to implement yet and I don't even want to think about content production... let's only enjoy this moment.π

@Techwizz01@AllinAllgaming I'm following it closely but don't think so...π’
For many years there were already companies that did Godot game ports to consoles, nothing new on this. About Godot 4 it's a huge step forward indeed but unfortunately, it's not there... yet.
@Mr0ut Hi! The main reasons to move to Unity were Odin Inspector, a better particle System, and better console support. I'm following the Godot project and I think it will be a nice alternative in the future when we get a more mature ecosystem but it's not there yet.

@reduzio Game Engines are tools. There's good and bad tools for each task. You can write the whole game in binary with pen and paper. To say that if you don't, you're no skilled enough is just fact, but is it relevant at all? For real human beings, tools matter. Chose wisely.
It's unbelievable how much time I spend working only on the camera systems. One of the many things nobody notices when it's good and everyone complains about when it's bad. Dev's life is not fair π₯²
