Day 5: 54km done. A beautiful, sunny and clear day. Descended to 923m and negotiated several km of ice around Novo Runway.

Finally a groomed (safer) ice road down to Whichaway Camp, Schirmacher Oasis. 201km in total.

Day 1: wind chill was -21C. Made 35km.

Negotiated 10km of slippery ice and walked through 1.2km crevasse field, tethered to the vehicle. Difficult to see and balance in afternoon.
