89% of the products on an American supermarket shelf that list avocado oil as their only oil are cut with something cheaper, and one of them turned out to contain essentially no avocado at all.
UC Davis bought fifty-four of them and put them through a laboratory. The results were published on 21 July. Mostly soybean oil doing the filling, and paying more bought no protection whatsoever, because price did not predict purity. The lead author explained why she went looking in one sentence: she did not believe there was that much avocado oil in the world.
None of this is new. It is the oldest trade in food, and it has been running continuously since your great-great-grandmother's kitchen.
Cottonseed was rubbish. Two pounds of it come off the gin for every pound of lint, and for most of the nineteenth century it rotted in stinking heaps outside the mills, got dumped into rivers, and was too foul to burn. Then somebody pressed it. The oil came out pale and nearly tasteless. Useless as a food, perfect as a liar.
The 1870s: shipped to Europe by the ton, blended into olive oil, sold as olive oil, undetectable, which was the entire proposition. Italian growers worked it out and got a tariff imposed around 1881 that killed the trade.
So it came home and went into the lard, and the way it was caught is the best line in the story. Armour and Company noticed that more lard was arriving at its doors than every hog alive in the United States could physically have produced. Congress investigated. The result was not a ban, it was a phrase. Lard compound. The practice carried on with a word in front of it.
By 1887 they stopped pretending. Cottolene went on sale, four fifths cottonseed oil and one fifth beef fat, in a pail the shape of a lard pail. Crisco followed in 1911 with no animal in it at all. Inside one lifetime, a substance nobody could give away had replaced the fat it was invented to imitate.
Madrid, 1981. Industrial rapeseed denatured with aniline, made for factories, deodorised and poured into unmarked five litre cans and sold round the suburbs as olive oil. 20,096 people poisoned. 356 dead, most of them women. Survivors are still being tested today for the nerve damage.
Three continents, a hundred and forty years, four different oils, one identical business model. Take the cheapest liquid on the site and sell it under the most expensive name on the shelf.
The label was never the product. Every regulator in this story arrived decades late and issued a new word instead of a prosecution.
So buy the fat off the animal. Suet from a butcher who can name the farm, tallow you rendered yourself, butter from a dairy that answers its phone.
Nobody has ever cut a block of beef fat with soybean oil while you stood there watching them trim it.
"Japan uses seed oils and they're healthy. So seed oils can't be the problem."
This gets said a lot. It is based on a misreading of the data.
Japan consumes 278 calories per person per day from seed oils.
The United States consumes 454. 63% more.
Japan's primary seed oil is canola: roughly 21% linoleic acid.
America's primary seed oil is soybean: roughly 55% linoleic acid.
Japan also eats significantly more fish than the US: which means substantially higher omega-3 intake, which partially counteracts the inflammatory effects of omega-6. Their omega-6 to omega-3 ratio is considerably more balanced than America's.
And Japan does not permit TBHQ: a synthetic antioxidant added to seed oils in America that has been linked to immune dysfunction and food allergies.
So: Japan consumes less seed oil, a less concentrated form of it, partially offset by fish consumption, without the additive that makes American seed oil potentially worse.
And even with all those buffers in place?
Japan's vegetable oil consumption has increased 13-fold since 1950. In the same period, Japan's obesity rate, while still the lowest in the developed world at 4.5%, has risen steadily. Younger Japanese are substantially heavier than older cohorts were at the same age. The diseases of modernity are arriving in Japan. On the same timeline as the oil.
Japan is not evidence that seed oils are fine.
Japan is evidence that the damage is dose-dependent, and the dose is lower.
🚨 HE SAYS BIG PHARMA CREATED PEANUT ALLERGIES — AND THEN SOLD THE “CURE”
In a viral video, a man claims peanut oil was put into vaccines in the 1960s alleging it triggered mass peanut allergies across generations.
Then he asks the question:
“Guess who owns the EpiPen?”
Pfizer.
"So not only did they inject the people to make them allergic, then they also own the solution that all the schools need to carry and all the things that need to go with that. That's Pfizer."
He argues it’s not the peanut, it’s vaccines, pesticides, chemical processing, over-roasting.
He says raw peanuts are “phenomenal” for hormones, prostate, ovaries, even cancer support.
Did allergies suddenly skyrocket by coincidence… or is this the kind of pattern people aren’t supposed to question?
RFK Jr. just casually revealed his daily diet as HHS Secretary — and it's pure carnivore with a twist.
“I'm on a carnivore diet, so I just eat meat and ferments… I eat some kind of meat, probably twice a day… with sauerkraut.”
Peter Doocy: “Is it true you’ll be cooking a steak at 6:30 in the morning with sauerkraut?”
RFK Jr.: “I eat it with sauerkraut, yeah.”
No carbs. No plants (except fermented ones).
Meat + ferments = his baseline.
Carnivore + sauerkraut at dawn — genius gut-health hack or too extreme for most people?
What’s your take — would you try it, or is this a step too far?
🚨The New Dietary Guidelines Are Internally Inconsistent
1/7) Publicly, RFK Jr. says “we’re ending the war on saturated fat.” The iconic food pyramid has been flipped, with butter and beef now at the top.
But read the actual guidelines, and you’ll find the exact same restriction: saturated fat still capped at 10% of daily calories. No change.
(People may not like this thread or the linked long-form letter. But I'm not here to pander or choose political sides. I'm here to seek the clarifications I know Americans want and to 'tough love' this step in the right direction into a proper leap...)

Seed Oil Labeling Will Be Mandatory in Louisiana Restaurants
Starting January 1, 2028, restaurants and food service establishments in Louisiana must post a visible disclaimer if they use or cook with seed oils:
“Some menu items may contain or be prepared using seed oils.”

"Cholesterol is essential for life. 85% of Cholesterol is made by our body & only 15% comes from dietary sources."
"Cholesterol is deeply linked to our immune system. It deactivates bacteria, pathogens, viruses, yeast & mold."
"It controls infections, protecting damage, reducing the chances of AIDS, Alzheimer's, recovery from illness. All of that is done by Cholesterol."
"Cholesterol varies in different times of the day, different seasons, different parts of the year, with winter it increases, with summer it decreases."
"Cholesterol increases after infections, after surgery, dental treatment, even stress increases it. And when we are relaxed then the Cholesterol comes down."
The greatest myth in the field of medicine is that there is a relationship between high cholesterol & heart disease--it does not exist.
There are no benefits to taking a Statin, yes they lower your cholesterol, but they do not lower Cardiovascular Risk or Disease.
There are ONLY risks & adverse events from taking a cholesterol lowering statin...they cause grave harm.
In fact, low Cholesterol is dangerous & is causal for Heart Attack, Cancer & Stroke.
LDL cholesterol below 70 mg/dL causes 3X more brain bleeds known as Hemorrhagic Stroke.
Cholesterol Is Essential, Without It Our Bodies Cannot Make:
Testosterone
Aldosterone
Cortisol
DHT Dihydrotestosterone
DHEA Dehydroepiandrosterone
Estradiol
Estriol
Estrone
Progesterone
Vitamin D
The Benefits Of Total Cholesterol Over 200 mg/dL:
Protects against chemicals, toxins & heavy metals.
Prevents dementia & cognitive decline.
Protects against all cause mortality.
Production of all steroid hormones.
Bone density & Osteoporosis prevention.
Protective against stroke & heart disease.
Important for lungs & airways.
Building block of all cells & mitochondria.
Absorption of Vitamins A, D, E & K.
Critical for digestion & bile acids.
Immune system protection against infections.
Protection against bacteria, pathogens & viruses.
Lowers risk of cancer & death.
Lowers risk of depression & suicide.
Lowers stress, cortisol & anxiety.
Optimal brain is 60% fat & 25% cholesterol.
A low carbohydrate diet prioritizing nutrient dense animal foods, eliminating harmful seed oils, excess sugar, grains, & processed foods provides the best healthy cholesterol profile.
This approach keeps Triglycerides low & HDL high, which is one of the best Biomarkers for Cardiac health. TG/HDL ratio optimally should be 1.5 or less.
Beef & all ruminant meat, Eggs, low mercury wild caught seafood, pastured pork & poultry, tallow, ghee, butter & lard are all superfoods for longevity.
Animal sourced foods & healing saturated fats raise HDL & lower triglycerides to eliminate cardiovascular & atherosclerosis risk.

Yes, 👍🏻 that’s a wonderful report on @realDonaldTrump — I love seeing his low triglycerides (often a sign of good carb control) and his TG:HDL ratio is 0.7, which is very good and if high (>2) is a marker for insulin resistance. Best to eat a “low insulin diet” aka low carb: low-sugar low-grains 🙏🏻

The Research Is Clear. The Higher Your LDL, The Longer You Live.
LDL serves an important & vital purpose for vibrant health. LDL contains the antioxidants Vitamin E, CoQ10 & Carotenoids that kill off free radicals. This reduces inflammation & oxidative damage, which are the true causes of cardiovascular disease.
LDL is a transport carrier molecule, is preventive of disease & crucial for our immune system. It is the carrier for all fat soluble vitamins A, D, E & K.

Have you tried fermented peanut butter? It has benefits over unfermented nut butter:
1️⃣ Reduced Aflatoxins – Fermentation can significantly lower or eliminate aflatoxins, a type of fungal toxin.
2️⃣ Improved Nutrient Bioavailability – Fermentation makes key vitamins and minerals more accessible to the body.
3️⃣ Probiotic Content – Contains beneficial bacteria that support gut health and digestion.
4️⃣ Reduced Oxalates – Helps lower oxalate levels, which is beneficial for those prone to kidney stones or with oxalate sensitivities.
5️⃣ Enhanced Digestibility – Fermentation breaks down proteins and fibers, making peanut butter easier to digest.
It has a more acidic taste that can add a unique flavor to recipes.
The Biden Administration just issued guidance that in order to qualify for school lunches, a Veggie Burger must contain:
(1) Soy Protein
(2) Vegetable Oils (such as soybean, canola, or sunflower).
This is after significant lobbying from Impossible Foods and soy farmers.
