Big Tech has been actively lobbying AGAINST KOSA and the KIDS Act. The list of 120+ lobbying disclosures includes a mix of conservative think tanks, advocacy groups, civil liberties orgs, and companies that supported and opposed the bills. A lobbying disclosure only means someone discussed or monitored the bill, not that they wrote it.
If Big Tech had drafted these policies, the text would look very different. These bills don’t read like they were written by people with technical expertise, and they don’t reflect the positions Big Tech has actively been pushing.
Ngl I think most Americans are in favor of banning social media for kids but they think you'll have to one of these age check boxes instead of submitting your biometric data
where are these Americans? I don't see em. I see politicians and parents they got wrapped around their fingers supporting this. For starters. Did it ask for the government to ban them through age verification like IDs? If it did. The poll would be very different. Also 1/2
They want ratios gone for the same reason they wanted the dislike button gone on YouTube, Twitter, and other social media, it allows people to express and measure public sentiment independently of their control.

The House just passed my resolution to provide greater transparency into how taxpayer dollars were spent to resolve congressional sexual misconduct claims.
The vote was 420-0. Americans deserve to know precisely how their money is spent.
We just needed 12 more to vote No to stop this trojan-horse bill, because it takes 2/3 to pass under a suspension of the rules.
Too many were afraid to vote against the “KIDS Act” title, or didn’t know what the bill will really do, or just want government to have total control.
Lol. This is hilarious.
@juliecbarrett just inadvertently confirmed what we all suspected: she’s working closely with @statelinx — Justin Hill, a tech lobbyist.
Notice the screenshot she posted has his X profile picture. He sent it to her.
That’s how she’s getting paid! LOL
