Good morning, Asia. While you were sleeping, our most-read story was about the deepening alarm in the intelligence community about the state of American democracy. https://t.co/VPUApFBwSo?
Iranians are very diplomatic, but it can fool idiots.
If Iran truly sees “no cause for concern,” why has it spent years pressuring GCC states through proxies? And vice versa?
Tehran may view the Saudi–Pakistan–Turkey alignment as an alternative to dependence on the US,
BREAKING: Iran’s Foreign Ministry says the joint defence agreement signed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye reflects a “strategic shift” towards the US, adding that Tehran sees “no cause for concern.”

but it shouldn’t mistake diversification for an American withdrawal. The US and Israel aren’t leaving the regional equation.
If Washington or Jerusalem sees Iran moving toward regional dominance again, confrontation can return very quickly.
For the last two days, all three sides have been busy explaining the “reality” and details of a defense pact that hasn’t even been made public yet. Everyone seems to know exactly what it means without actually seeing what it says or how it will be implemented. Go figure.
So after all the escalation and attacks, the U.S. is now ‘low-keying it’ with Iran? Wasn’t that essentially the U.S approach under previous administrations to contain Iran, apply economic pressure, avoid a full-scale war? what exactly changed?
What a mess !

The mutual defense pact of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan is another achievement of @POTUS promoting stability, peace, and prosperity in the Middle East. With our prosperous Gulf allies, a liberated Syria, and Lebanese-Israeli negotiations, it is clear the murderous regime in Iran is isolated and the people of Iran can regain a new government worthy of Iran’s rich history.
Alright, and zero courage to stop the Palestinian genocide.
Pakistan 179 warheads = Zero (lock & monitor my the US).
In reality, MBS may have outplayed everyone. Saudi Arabia secured a defense framework that could strengthen its protection against threats like the Houthis,

Many Muslims may see this pact as protection against Israel, but Israel isn’t attacking Turkey, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia and with the U.S. and China closely watching the region, major Israeli adventures against them seem unlikely.
I doubt it.
The real purpose and the real payoff of this defense alignment may still be something we haven’t seen. On the surface, it appears to serve U.S. interests by keeping Iran in check and maintaining consistent strategic pressure on Tehran.
