@ZipOffHonister @LakesChief@honisterdotcom This revelation is political dynamite surely? Has the @lakedistrictnpa just publicly lost its mandate as an impartial planning authority?
Our planning officer Laura is moving on to pastures new - and we'll be very sorry to see her go after all her great work, but that means we're looking for a new planning officer - want to work for us? Or know someone who might? Please share! https://t.co/TQKMOy0CNy
@mumerous@unitedutilities@TreetopTrekUK We wish it was, but the @unitedutilities retrospective planning application is the final element. We know there will be no zip wires, but this track was to be used to access them, so we want it crystal clear that it is a) rejected, or b) legally restricted for logging operations.
4 DAYS UNTIL JUDGEMENT DAY - On 7th March the @unitedutilities access track on the West of #Thirlmere, which was previously to be used by @TreetopTrekUK, will have its retrospective planning application decided. If you're a bill payer, please tell UU to withdraw, just like TTT...
@andrewswalks Good news @ZipOffThirlmere. Please see https://t.co/lqbw0BvRaH. @TreetopTrekUK The case against Thirlmere zipwire proposal was overwhelming as it was for your Glenridding 2014 zipwire proposal. Please get it: the public do not want zipwires in the open landscape of the NP.
BREAKING - No zip wires over #Thirlmere ever!!! @unitedutilities have made the decision not to support any resubmitted @TreetopTrekUK zip wire plans for Thirlmere. Statement below. #ZipOff 👍 Brilliant 😊
1 STEP FORWARD, 1/2 STEP BACK 😡 The battle for saving #Thirlmere from @unitedutilities retrospective planning permission for a 'forestry track' took a hit today, with @lakedistrictnpa recommending it for unconditional approval (https://t.co/pm4UNLNbjo). https://t.co/rBUkwH7aRJ
@andrewswalks@FriendsofLakes@ZipOffThirlmere Well, the airplanes got him”.
“Oh no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast”.
(Final lines from King Kong - and very appropriate here when you read the LDNPA Report)
@SingletonWayne @Food2GoStaveley @FriendsofLakes The planning meeting is 7th March for this one, but we are pushing UU for clarification on their position earlier.
It wasn't just the MOD that was the reason for their suggested refusal, but also landscape, infrastructure, heritage, planning policies, & highways. The publication of this document on the planning portal, is vital for our solo campaign against the ongoing UU retrospective plans.
