@UcheMaryOkoli Why do you lie like this? Nobody hates Mary. Disagreement with doctrine and practices is not hate. No Christian would say what you did here
Your claim that born again means baptism misreads John 3:5. Jesus is pointing Nicodemus to Ezekiel 36:25–27, where God promises to sprinkle clean water (symbolizing purification from sin), give a new heart, and put his Spirit within people so they obey him.
That work is God’s direct action through the Spirit, not a human rite. In John 3:5–8 Jesus applies the same language to the new birth required for the kingdom, locating it in the Spirit’s work and faith in the Son...John 3:14–16, not in baptism.
Baptism later serves as the sign of what the Spirit has already done.
That's not how that works. Infant baptism is nowhere taught in scripture. Household doesn't mean infant baptism. Under 5% of households have infants so inserting infant into a household being baptized is twisting scripture to support your religion.
Everywhere in scripture belief precedes baptism. Every single time. One must be born again of the Spirit
It isn’t invented. It’s the author’s own inference from Acts 1:21-22, 1 Cor 9:1, and Eph 2:20. Scripture never states the office closed on a fixed date, but the eyewitness requirement and “foundation laid once” make later identical apostles impossible without a new direct commissioning by the risen Christ, which no text records.
Scripture requires an apostle to be an eyewitness of the risen Christ....Acts 1:21-22, 1 Cor 9:1.
That qualification ended with the original apostles and Paul.
Later elders were appointed to teach and oversee....Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5, 2 Tim 2:2, but the unique apostolic office was foundational and not passed on...Eph 2:20.
A foundation is only laid once
No modern church possesses it.
Those who truly belong to Christ will persevere, so the question of future falling is answered by God’s promise rather than personal certainty and performance.
Judas was never one of Christ’s sheep. Jesus called him a devil beforehand and the son of destruction lost so Scripture would be fulfilled.
King Saul lost an earthly throne, not New Cov eternal life. Peter denied Jesus, yet Christ had already prayed that his faith would not fail and that he would turn again. He was restored and continued.
Jesus said his sheep will never perish and no one can snatch them from his or the Father’s hand.
Rom 8;30Those he justifies he also glorifies, and he who began the work will complete it...Phil 1:6.
Those who ultimately leave were never truly of us or His. Assurance rests on that preserving work, not on the absence of temporary failure.
Those that are truly regenerate will persevere. Not everyone who claims to be saved is.
@JamesDitto12@Xtopher_Uzo Salvation is dependant on their performance which is why not one of them believes in assurance and thinks anyone who is assured is full of pride. They cheapen the blood of Christ.
True. We are to read and study the Scriptures daily. If we do not how are we to know if what we are being taught and hearing is true? They dont seem to understand this point.
They treat the Scriptures as a code book that noone can understand even a verse without a group of genius supersaints who are apparently more indwelt with the Holy Spirit. Not quite sure how that works.
I dont think most of them even believe that mere peasant believers can be indwelt and taught by God. IQ has nothing to do with it
They think they can say they know the bible because of the handful of same repeated scriptures over and over, and like you said, out of context. Do they understand how many scriptures there are? No way most of them have even heard 30% of the old and new testament in their group readings
The church is not the source of truth. A pillar and foundation uphold something but are not the thing they uphold.
The church is a pillar that upholds the truth of Jesus Christ and the gospel but can not add to, take away from, or create its own truth. Jesus Christ is the truth and the Scriptures are God's infallible word all matters of faith, morals, and practices must align with.
The church (His body) is individuals. All visible churches are made up of flawed individuals that can err. The Holy Spirit watches over and guides the body but it does not mean they can not err.
This is why God's inerrant word is the highest authority. The churches in scripture had to be corrected from the start.
There is wheat and tares in every visible congregation. Christ's true body is made up of the wheat in all the congregations. The unsaved and false converts are not members of Christ's body but attend together in the same building.
Individuals are the body and we are His temple. It is not a specific label of church building. Nowhere is it ever said the church can not err. They can become apostate if they drift to far.
Nobody who actually holds justification by faith alone teaches “believe, do nothing, keep sinning, heaven is guaranteed.”
Dead faith is not saving faith. James 2 and Matt 7 agree on that. The disagreement is what saves. The people in Matt 7 did many religious works and were told Christ never knew them
The rich young ruler was pointed to commandments and then to following Christ because his refusal exposed that he did not trust Christ above his possessions, not because commandment keeping is the meritorious cause of eternal life.
John 6:28–29 answers “what must we do?” with “believe in the one he has sent.” Works follow because God prepared them....Ephv2:10. They show the faith is real.
They do not complete or earn justification. The thief on the cross had no time for a life of charity and was still saved.
@AnthonyRayGray@Protestia He was made the least of us in oh so many ways. Not desirable. Funny when they make a picture of Him as this chiseled jaw handsome man.
@nsewanswers@DavidAlGregory@BattsJoel29516@Protestia You just preach the gospel as is, that's it. There is power in the word. Noone turns to Christ unless the Father draws them. God does not need our imagination or crazy tricks to get peoples attention. He only needs our boldness and His words.
