Do it. Do it now! It is easy and you only need a relatively modern machine with 16GB about 200GB of disc and a bit of sysadmin knowledge.

We started baking on Tezos on June 11, 2025. We were in the space long before that and even longer in crypto in general.
New users thinking about baking should start with understanding that they have a responsibility to secure the network and their vote matters. In exchange for these responsibilities they earn a percentage of newly created XTZ.
I would recommend to at least be familiar with the commandline and make sure they stay updated on changes in the ecosystem and software updates. Bakers' infrastructure security is their own responsibility, but there is always anyone wanting/able to help out as that is part of the culture.
First start with setting up a Testnet node and baker with throwaway keys to prevent real-world losses.
More Tezonians have been asking how to recover funds from SpicySwap LPs and MatterDeFi farms, so here are a few useful tools.
arrivederci: inspect remaining funds, farms and LPs, and recover positions directly from your wallet.

⚠️ Security Alert for our users!
We strongly recommend withdrawing liquidity from legacy QuipuSwap V1 pools, particularly tzBTC/TEZ, wWBTC/TEZ and BTCtz/TEZ, due to potential security risks.
🔐 Other legacy V1 pools also use outdated contracts that cannot be upgraded. We
📢 Octez version 25.3 has just been released!

We recommend that all node operators and bakers upgrade promptly.

🍾We'll be talking about baking/validating on @Tezos, quantum test networks and no doubt vibe coding. Come and find out how the six of us run our bakers.
🪚We have some OGs lined up for the show. Let's make it a good one!

After review and multisig vote on community proposed events for Aug-Dec of this year, we are pleased to announce our second cohort of successful applicants!
Each applicant will be organizing a community event unique to them, and bringing exciting opportunities to Tezos!
Without ANY institutional funding, and octez.js clearly ingesting all of the unpaid labor produced by @jevonearth it's up to us to ensure some modicum of funding with #tezoscrp so please shower them every month and be loud about it so @TezosFoundation knows they can do better
