CMC Review on MSW & Sanitation Activities!!
A comprehensive review meeting on Municipal Solid Waste Management and sanitation was held by the Commissioner at NAC Auditorium with all IALA Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and officials of Sanitation & Town Planning wings.
The Commissioner emphasized strict implementation of new MSW Rules from April 1, 2026, focusing on accountability, transparency and efficiency in sanitation services.
🔹 Key directions issued:
• 100% door-to-door waste collection & source segregation
• Clear coordination in IALA areas – primary by IALA, secondary & disposal by municipalities
• Focus on decentralized processing and RRRR principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Recover)
• Strict monitoring of C&D waste and action against unauthorized dumping
🔹 Operational focus:
• Ward-wise route planning & sanitation mapping
• Promotion of electric vehicles for waste collection
• Identification and regulation of Bulk Waste Generators
• Strengthening field-level monitoring for better execution
The Commissioner also directed all officials to align resources, manpower and systems with new guidelines. SOPs will be shared shortly for effective implementation.
Only authorized agencies will handle waste collection, with strong inter-departmental coordination to ensure improved citizen services and cleaner urban environment.
