Zareef Ahmad Zareef once told me that during his childhood he accompanied his father to Mirwaiz Manzil in Srinagar. They saw, then Mirwaiz standing on the balcony of 3rd floor with raised hands and tears in eyes praying. When the Mirwaiz came down and met them, Zareef's father asked him what he was praying for. He said: Gosa'n Che Khatmet Amarnath, Mousam Gou Kharab, Khudais Ousus Mangan, Emme thayzrkh Sahi salamat. (Sadhus have gone to Amarnath, weather is bad, was praying for their safety). So to protect Yatris, that is our tradition
