Mehrab Khalid, a student of “Filming ” at the National College of Arts (NCA),Lahore, was reportedly taken on the night of 29 May at around 12:30 a.m. Along with him, eight of his classmates were also detained and later released. However, Mehrab’s whereabouts remain unknown.
His disappearance has raised serious concerns among Baloch students studying across the country. The continued lack of information about his fate is deeply troubling and raises questions about due process and fundamental rights.
We demand the immediate disclosure of Mehrab Khalid’s whereabouts and his safe release.

The ongoing pattern of enforced disappearances was raised, where individuals are taken without due process and families remain without answers. Cases of extrajudicial killings and body dumping were highlighted as serious violations that continue in the absence of accountability.
At the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, I spoke on the grave human rights situation in Balochistan. The ongoing pattern of enforced disappearances was raised, where individuals are taken without due process and families remain without answers. Cases of extrajudicial killings and body dumping were highlighted as serious violations that continue in the absence of accountability.
The shrinking civic space was also addressed. Journalists, students, lawyers, and human rights defenders continue to face harassment, arbitrary detention, and legal action under counterterrorism laws. The continued detention of activists, Several BYC Leaders including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, reflects the broader effort to silence peaceful voices seeking justice.
A call was made for an independent and impartial assessment by the United Nations into the human rights situation in Balochistan. Meaningful steps toward accountability and protection of fundamental rights remain essential to address these ongoing violations.

Ghani Baloch’s disappearance demands immediate clarification. His family and the public have the right to know his whereabouts, legal status, and condition.
Where is Ghani Baloch? The state must disclose the truth, ensure his safe release, and be held accountable under the law.
The case of Ghani Baloch highlights a clear and documented pattern in Balochistan, where writers, intellectuals, and individuals who promote awareness are subjected to enforced disappearance. Those who engage in peaceful expression face unlawful detention without charge or due process. At the same time, individuals linked to criminal networks and corruption continue to operate with impunity and, in some cases, are integrated into positions of authority.
Ghani Baloch’s disappearance demands immediate clarification. His family and the public have the right to know his whereabouts, legal status, and condition. Silence from authorities only deepens concern and violates fundamental human rights obligations. Where is Ghani Baloch? The state must disclose the truth, ensure his safe release, and be held accountable under the law.

Balochistan is the center of human rights abuses, particularly, for last two decades, where enforced disappearances, extrajudicial murders, indiscriminate firing on civilians and various other political, social, economic and cultural rights are violated without any accountability. What is even more concerning is the direct involvement of the law enforcement agencies behind all those illegal acts and, unfortunately, they are never held accountable for what is wrong and what has been made a common practice in Balochistan.
Last night (April 1-2), the security personnel opened indiscriminate firing on a family, executing three, including a spouse and their daughter, and injuring another three persons in Cheeri Malaar area of Awaran. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Umar, his wife Faiza Baloch and their daughter Mahzaib. While another woman of the same family, identified as Fehmeeda, is among the three injured ones. Such incidents have become a routine where the Baloch civilians are treated as third-grade citizens and their human-rights-violators/murderers are never questioned. Despite eye witnesses, the cases remained in the dust of ignorance, while the judiciary is equally silent of all the cases irrespective of the fact that such incidents are as visible as sun – to the government, to the judiciary and to the Baloch civilians.
On account of Baloch Women Forum (BWF), we denounce every act that tends to breach the laws of the land, no matter who the actors are – if the ones suffering are innocent civilians. Presently, the law enforcement agencies, as we have been observing and recording, are the direct violators of the indigenous people’s rights. The Awaran’s Cheeri Malaar incident must be probed impartially and those involved in the heinous crime must be reduced to exemplary punishment.

Our peaceful resistance has allowed the message to reach far and wide. People of conscience are aware of atrocities in Balochistan, yet greater global attention is needed to end the genocide.

Her family continues to be harassed and terrorized by state forces. The state is using Baloch women as tools of repression and intimidation.
Remember, Baloch women is one of the strongest voices in South Asia against Pakistani state repression.
