Renting in the UK is fucking backwards.
You can spend £1,200 a month paying someone else's mortgage.
That's £14,400 a year going towards an asset you'll never own.
But the bank won't give you an £800 a month mortgage because you “can't afford the repayments.”
Apparently £1,200 a month is affordable when it goes to your landlord.
But £800 a month is suddenly unaffordable when it goes towards owning the place yourself.
Make it make sense.
they won't bring them back because now we have to buy 15 different devices to do all these things and they'll each only last about a year before they break and we gotta buy another one. Capitalism doesn't breed innovation, it just makes things less useful AND more expensive
We have trains derailing because tracks are buckling in the heat, homes on fire, water is running out, crop yields and feed for animals are struggling and there is no rain in the forecast. The climate is a full blown emergency and we need the government to lead on it
I hate work.
Like, I HATE work.
Not necessarily my job. I hate the whole fking system of waking up at the same time, driving to the same place, doing the same shit for five days straight just to earn two days of “freedom” that I’m too exhausted to actually enjoy.
Saturday is spent recovering.
Sunday is spent thinking about Monday.
Then Monday comes, and we do the whole damn thing AGAIN.
I’m not lazy. I work. I show up. I handle my sh*t.
I just refuse to believe we were put on this earth to spend most of our lives waiting for the weekend.
Post like this annoy me so much because yes you can find cheap food but you also need the gas/electric to cook it. The plates/pots/pans to eat it with. The cleaning products to wash up after. It is never as simple as 52p rice.
Once again, a daily reminder that more than 230 MILLION GIRLS alive today went through female genital mutilation, 650 MILLION WOMEN were once child brides, 2.4 BILLION WOMEN still don't have full economic rights and only 14 COUNTRIES have full rights for women.
