It was great to host lunch for employed children and youth workers today. Time to connect, hear what's a priority for them and an introduction to Mighty Leaders, our new online learning community!
Always enjoy reading and talking to @RootAndrew. On the real crisis facing the Church - not that of decline, which drives so much anxious activity, but how to speak of a living God in a secular age https://t.co/DigoabwlGP
A thread on #ExamResults:
I remember my A-level results day well. I acheived a C in Music Tech, a D in Physics and an E in Physical Education. It had been a very difficult couple of years for my family, my attendance record was a shambles and my focus had been on surviving.
"When the music fades."
My thoughts on my time at Soul Survivor twenty years on.
Soul Survivor, the Mike Pilavachi safeguarding situation, and the silence since.
A long read. Hope it helps.

1/ Are we inadvertently perpetuating a problem when we ask our kids, "Did you have fun?" as one of the first questions when they come out of kids or youth ministry? 🤔
We asked Richard Frank to share his tips from a recent seminar at a #GrowingYounger training day. Here's a snippet but we recommend watching the full conversation on our Youtube channel for explanations!

On 11 May, four churches are hosting an evening with Care for the Family discussing how to engage kids and youth in conversations of faith at home.
The evening will include free resources, a short talk, time for discussion and a Q&A!

A Satsuma isn't a failed Orange.
Small church? Tiny youth group? It's not a failure, it's a beautiful thing. Rich relationships, deep connection. Everyone is noticed. BE encouraged!
@abbiemarsh_ For me having 3/7 evenings out is currently feeling quite energising and I notice I soak up the precious nighttime routine with baby the other days of the week more than before, but also enjoy getting the break.
My 7 months maternity leave ended today 🥹 I didn’t have many (any?) reference points for what it’s like to be a female youth pastor who becomes a parent, takes mat leave and then returns to work … #ywchat
@abbiemarsh_ Sunday as a working day is also pretty great for sharing childcare and blessing church friends with lots of baby cuddles while im working!
And some youth work stuff like the buying of sweets/pizzas/activities i can do with Zeb in the pram for company 😂
Anticipating feeling more physically tired, especially with baby’s night wakes and then leading evening youth groups. But it was also releasing to leave the house and know @LeviRPhillips was fully on it with Zeb care.
